I'm pretty sure that the league rankings are relative to the whole, so something like the top 10% will be in Platinum, top 25% in Gold, top 50% Silver, top 75% Bronze, remainder Copper.

It probably places you based on a hidden MMR that's influenced by a volatility or confidence value which starts with your placement games. After that it probably gives you elo points based on the difference between your MMR and your opponent's MMR, and when your MMR reaches a breakpoint you either ascend or descend a league (regardless of your elo). I think the elo is a byproduct of the system rather than anything defining, relatively speaking. If your elo is high, it means that you've beaten other players with high MMR who may or may not have a high elo rating.

The Pro league, when and if that gets added, will probably encompass the top 1% of players.

The real counter to muta's are vikings. Muta's are a little weak to all armored units, and vikings are armored AA.

I dunno, watch the replay, maby you didn't notice a high yield early expansion. I know KHB makes that mistake alot, so it's nothing to be too embarrassed about.

I was so pissed after that game haha. I was talking to my roommate half the time and I thought it was over when I was sitting in front of your gates... Notes to self: bunker @ third if orbital, better rax placement/macro, get second starport on 3 bases, +1 Thors might be viable if opponent never goes immortals.


If you go muta vs terran, you better also go Banelings.

Vikings are bad vs mutas, good vs corr/guardian and overlords/overseer.

For mutas u can use marnies, ghost(snipe), and the thor.

you get 0 points because you get match ups vs very bad players. Happens because there are only 100 decent players in beta or so. Laddering wont make much sense when you are at the top right now, you need to wait for the next beta wave so new and good players bring new points into the game which you can steal.

There are quite some people who changed from ladder to custom games because of those +0/-30 games. You cannot win...

Can anyone confirm that you do, or do not, get points winning someone else's placement matches?

If you don't get points, it could just be that with the new waves there'll be a lot of 0-pt matches to get players properly placed.

MinD just stimmed his rines and ran em back much like against lurkers. I think I build like 40 banelings in the game and a total of 2 or 3 hit. If you have sick micro you can definitely eat up banelings.
