I go expand with mass spines (or mass spines then expand depending on the map) and then go all out macro and pump around 6-10 infestors with burrow. Using these you can keep the enemy in check while teching up to broodlords. Corruptors are also a good stop-gap to stop drops or colossi. Once you have some kind of map control you can throw out a few ultras to really finish the enemy off. It feels risky and weak but the key is enough spine crawlers and spore crawlers. These buy you enough time to get the other units out.

I don't think we'll see good games.. mostly silly ones that won't make you learn anything about your usual games.

Ultra are freaking bad without support, BL need to be protected, queens don't do any dps at all to ground and infestor are a pure support. I'd focus on getting them out asap and then transitioning into higher tech ![]() Gonna be really gas heavy though x.x

Next daily, only make HTs ! Infestor need to support something, and support only ultra / BL is not that great.

I'm trying to put together some good information for him, starting with some Dailies. Right now, I have: #184 Newbie Tuesday #1 #189 Newbie Tuesday: Losing to Early Pressure #191 How to Analyze a Map and Adjust Your Play What other Dailies would be good for someone really just starting out with RTS? (If it matters, he's chosen to play Terran.) Edit: To clarify, I'm looking to help improve the very basics of the game. He's having problems everyone new to RTS/Starcraft has. Not producing workers all the time, getting supply blocked, spending too much time concentrating on battles and not on constantly using his production facilities, etc.

In decent numbers, infestors only need something to help with full out pushes, and only if they're not terran bio or something. Making lings or roaches when the enemy pushes out is generally enough.

THATS THE POINT I... think we'll see good games.. mostly silly ones that will teach you something you would never learn, playing... your usual games. Fixes in Bold Do you seriously not get how this will help you improve your gameplay and learn about the game, no matter how silly it seems. Your a fool if you don't think that restricting yourself this much won't teach you a million things about zerg tier 3 (which almost no one uses). Edit: When he picked only 2 gateways he originally thought that might be to hard. All the protoss players knew (or found out soon enough) they were completely fine getting by with only 2 gates (as long as they weren't being 4 gated). People need to just shutup when they disagree with people about the game sometimes. You have a right to disagree (see Idra and his Peers) but until you try it yourself, you shouldn't knock it. This game is soooo far from figured out its pathetic everytime I hear someone say "You shouldn't do that because its bad!" people are sooo afraid of losing they are afraid to try things for themselves it seems. Infuriating.

Oh, and making nothing but drones and spines gets you an absurd mineral economy early in the game.
