Ramps have one "diagonal" square which prevents walling with one building (hard to describe, as I said just test it, when you want to know more). With 2 nexusses (or whatever^^) it may be possible though.

What I'm doing is compiling dailies that teach new players the basics of Starcraft 2. I did this for my friend who didn't want to watch every single episode so why not share it. If you have any recommendations, please feel free to PM me :D (bold is the super important) From Daily #1 to #99: Recommend me :D I personally started watching after #100... From Daily #100 to #199: 100, 110, 116, 121, 132, 146, 153, 163, 164, 168, 169, 170, 175, 176, 177, 179, 180, 191, 194(for zerg). From Daily #200 to #300 P.S: All Newbie Tuesday must be watched :D

Putting a Nexus on the top of the ramp might work, but that's really hard to do, especially against the Zerg who keep baneling busting me. I'm determined to make this work, but I can only win under this condition against players who macro themselves or VR rush.

If you so happen to have all the expansions and the game isn't over yet, don't bother submitting that replay, it's obviously boring.

was disappointed by the daily too. There was no need to get collossi because the terran player made some early mistakes then got too far behind from dts. BUT if the mistakes had not been made, if he had gotten a turret and defended with minimal loss, FENIX would have had a substantially larger army because he wouldnt have had to invest 2k gas and slightly above 2k minerals in a vain attempt to do damage, he could have chilled and kept those units and the end result of that game would have been almost exactly the same because he brought himself time. The best part is if this was a perfect replay where the dts where defended and their supplies evened out and fought you could have said the exact same thing except you could have nitpicked the terrans decition making rather than dts and an early push doing about 30 supply worth of damage THE KEYWORDs in that daily IS GET AND TIME

It was not an example of the idea actually working. We'd only have seen the "time" aspect of the strategy if the DTs didn't outright cripple him to an unrecoverable position. You just need to take his word that the "time" aspect is significant enough. That's exactly what people said when day9 did PvT macro oriented daily. They said it will never work in ladder. Ha! Anyway the point of this daily - Inka gets DTs, Fenix is not able to move out until he has enough scans or ravens. Inka gets time to do what he wants, because Fenix is fucked up. Even if Fenix did move out Inka could warp more DT's to his base. However if first 2 dts weren't so effective and didn't cripple Fenix that much, he would still not be able to move out, because the threat of Dt's is huge. I think people are really bashing this daily because DT's were so effective... The same idea can be used with other units (drops, mutalisks, banshees).

I get that. But does he buy more time than he loses by having a late robo if DTs aren't devestating? Probably not. Did the DTs halt a terran attack? No. Gate units did. Then DTs won the game. It was an example of gateway units and a terran expansion buying time for DTs to win the game at best, not DTs buying collossi time. Additionally that game buying time wasnt a big dea because terran had expanded. Terran was miles ahead economically. With time an economic lead will tell, especially versus toss since they have limited harassment options to pull back a deficit. Terran should have been happy to give toss all the time they want but then got murdered by DTs which hit a paticularly sweet timing more by good fortune than by design. I won't complain too hard since I love the dailys and honestly im far from a good player, but from my noobish perspective it just didn't seem to illustrate the probably perfectly valid case Day9 is trying to make.

Otherwise if Fenix attacks, Inka can just send his DTs one by one and the whole Terran army will evaporate. Even if Fenix did not suffer any damage from the initial harass, he still has to save up scans and get ravens/ turrets to fight the DTs. This bought him time needed to get colossus. That was, what i felt, the point of this daily.

If Fenix had made a single raven, which he had tech and gas to do, then the DTs would be stopped dead. Protoss wouldn't have spent the resources on attacking but Fenix would have had a big timing window before the colossus came out to attack with a nice MMM + raven ball. Even worse if Terran goes a build similar to what won Jinro the finals not only will the DT's be stopped dead but the push will most likely kill the Protoss player since it is hard enough to hold without investing in DT tech.
