I especially like the part near the end about trying to get people to "get" the games and stuff you are excited about. It makes me think i'll have to work harder to show my GF what's so cool about starcraft, cause she still doesn't get why i play it, even though sometimes the game pisses me off so much. ;p
Me too. The second time I saw it I was playing Metroid Prime on Wii, my dad didn't understand a thing when he entered the room and saw me playing Wii while crying, haha.

What about CCs being build in the main and the floated to resources? Do inbase hatches count? Can Terran make a CC, plant it at a choke to transform it into a PF?
Don't over think it or try to game the rules, that's what's leading to people putting in such terrible replays. A new expansion at a new mineral patch every 4 minutes. Only submit a game if it's epic. Any game ending before the 8-12 minute mark is likely not going to be "fun" enough.

Useful term, worth it's own thread to make sure people hear it?
Yea, I've mostly heard about it with zerg because it's much easier to do with zerg. You really just need to keep up with spawn larva and maaaybe get an extra hatch or two. With terran toss you really have to slam out a lot of structures to make it work.
But this was around in Brood War wasn't it? It's got to have been.
It was called Sauron Zerg, and was kind of a zerg-only thing, because it was harder to macro in BW, especially for Protoss and Terran.
Here's a good example, without English commentary, of a 300-food-push in a progame.
Personally I feel that the definition of Sauron Zerg is both unspecific and not entirely representative of what Sean is styling a "300 food push." The definition on Liquipedia seems to describe it more as an economy/military/technology balance or style than a specific lategame practice.
I'll also add that BW PvT also saw the construction of upwards of a dozen surplus gateways when maxed, in effect allowing a 300 food push, though the matchup dynamics discouraged Protoss from simply flooding troops in most situations. Smart recalls or organized push breaks were usually more effective than a stream of reinforcements, but having excess production helped rebuild armies in the lategame.
The matchup frequently saw huge battles with massive supply loss of core units (as opposed to gas units), so it was perfect for this practice, unlike other matchups such as TvT (territorial, distributed, tech-diverse leading to smaller losses of varied units), TvZ (constant pressure with low supply bio keeps both players from getting maxed.), PvZ (P needs to replace core units with gas units like Archons, Reavers, DT, Psi Storm, etc. so he doesn't need to add too many gateways; he won't have the gas to support them all.)

Expanding at 4min works, but every 4min again after that? Lol.
i just played a 30 min game where i managed too win doing this, it was crazy hard and the guy i played was terrible but in the end it worked out, if he dont pick it for his show i can post it here

But you can't ladder on handicap.
Though I'm a zerg player. Expanding every 4 minutes is probably what I should be doing.
There's no rule of funday monday that says the games have to be ladder games.
Maybe not, but that means Day9 doesn't get to screw up the metagame. Let's face it, if you could, you would want to make fundays that just mess up the metagame, like the monobattles and such.
I doubt Day9 will have fundays for nonladder games. Don't quote me on that. He might read the thread, and do a nonladder funday just to spite me.
