I was having the same problem with the zotac eps and I just had to skip about a minute or two ahead to get the stream to play. It always happened at the same spots in the videos on each video and if I resumed in the dead area of the video it would totally stop and ask me to restart the entire video.

hey day9. i think i might know why your stream crashed. At the point where problems started occurring, there were about 2000 viewers. You also recently changed your stream quality settings (i very much like the better quality). However, i dont think that livestream can handle that kind of quality and bit rate when there are that many viewers.

Its good to note that when you went to your camera view, livestream was working fine. This, i think, is due to your webcam's quality being a lot lower then your sc streaming.

So i think, when that type of lag occurs again, in the midst of combat, you should try to lower your settings and framerate, instead of trying to increase it (i noticed you said you increased your framerate yesterday when the lag started happening.

just something to try i guess.

i also had a couple of really great questions about last nights amazing cast. i will try and ask them tomorrow though.

+1, do this please. I can't tune in to ur Dailies as I'm European (CET). If u don't I'll angry-PM u saying stuff like: "%$#& u, u're doin' this for FREE!!1! UPLOAD THEMZ NAOW1!!". Yeah. So u'd better put it up
Also, livestream is a pretty bad service user-wise. It lags and does all sorts of funky stuff (suddenly stops in VODs, jumps to a different time in a VOD).

Guys seriously learn to read. He's said a few times in the thread that he's not putting the april fool's one up. People have quoted him saying this a few times as well.

Yep, he asked me after the game if I didn't use stim to make sure I didn't get 2 shotted, to which I sheepishly replied I simply didn't have stim at that point or I simply forgot to use it

It's a cool idea tho!

Hey Day 9, I would like to start off by thanking your for your commitment and passion for the sc/sc2 community. Love your broadcast and keep it up.

I was just wondering if you could spend some time on games regarding sc1 as it has been a while since you have done a game like that. I don't have a key and well....i would really appreciate it if you were to go back to sc1 for a couple of games.

Thank You in advance and sorry if this is not the place to post this idea.

Cheers!!!

I'm really only loosely associated with glhf.tv I was asked to cocast on there this sunday and usually moderate the chat, that's it. First off, please don't take this as some kind of twisted advertisement, I'm only replying because it was brought up by others who we have no association with glhf.tv what-so-ever (even less than me).

Second, what I can say with 100% confidence is that the overmind behind glhf.tv would love to do production for day[9], meaning that day[9] can yell his lungs out while someone else focuses on making sure the stream keeps running. And yes, this would be in considerably higher quality as seen this sunday where some people even had the glhf.tv stream running for higher quality and smooth video and day[9]'s stream for the commentary.

Me personally I'm a day[9] fan (almost as much as I'm a tasteless fan, sorry I couldn't resist!) and would be the first person to state that his commentary is better than what I can offer. Hence why I'm all for a best of both worlds scenario.

So day[9], if you're at all interested, just say the word and I can direct you to the right people. If not, that's cool man sometimes you want to do your own thing, I love what you're doing and hope you keep up the daily's day[9]-sensai. Your efforts are much appreciated!

My 2 cents is that Day 9 should get some kickback / payment for his coverage of tournaments. I know that amongst my circle of Star2 friends, we are always looking for the tournaments that he will cover, and we make sure to watch those because he is covering it. He is as much a draw (if not more) than the players often times.

I think if he partnered with glhf or any other group, he should get some money for being on that network, just like real sportscasters get paid. It's not enough for someone to just give him free tech.

Seriously, Day 9 is generating the large crowds.

I'm in the website business and would never join a content network just for free hosting / bandwidth. I used to get paid a lot of money for my site to be part of a network and they offered all the hosting / bandwidth for free as a small bonus on top of the money.

Money doesn't come out of thin air. For day[9] to get paid for coverage, there would have to be a stream of income as well. In other words, some kind of advertisement money or pay-per-view. There's 0 advertisement right now on the site, only an option to donate and I'm sure many of us would object to some kind of pay-per-view. They'd have to make money to pay him money.

What was being offered is production services.

If he's interested in making it a revenue stream by adding some kind of advertisement or some kind of pay-per-view set up, I'm sure there's room to maneuver here as well. I know they're quite flexible and would be quite willing to at least discus the options. But for day[9] to get paid, obviously the viewers would have to pay either through their attention (ads) or pay-per-view.

When it comes to offers from tournaments, whether they'd be willing to pay him or not for coverage, that's something else entirely. Something between day[9] and the tournament holders, glhf would just be supporting day[9].

Yea, I'm not speaking about glhf specifically but basically it is Day9 bringing his network to another network. If all of a sudden there is a 'brought to you by glhf' or anything of that nature, I think there's value there.

Anyhow, don't want to sidetrack the thread. Day 9 Dailies is my daily bread!

Seconded. There have been a lot of good recent games in the starleagues. Not that SC2 is boring, but is SC1 is still cool.

I think Day9 usually says he does this cast for the love of the game and something to do since he cannot commit to playing it non stop at the moment. I am guessing he volunteers freely to cast certain tournaments once again for the love of the game he has.

Donations are an awesome way for him to get some money out of this. I cannot really see it as a pay per view thing since his operational costs are pretty much his internet, possibly livestream premium(?), his many webcams that will fry during tournament nuke launches and his time.

I hope he can continue with his daily show, it helped me get back into Starcraft again. Keep up the excellent work Day9!

day[9] don't know who I am but I have watched his cast now for a couple of times and basically know exactly the way he thinks. In fact, I am so sure on my connection with day[9]'s thought process, that I feel pretty confident that he would love to have me officially speak for him on this matter.

I sense that day[9] would feel that this is a fantastical proposition that would open up a wonderful cooperation between the two most powerful identities in the starcraft scene to date. A joint effort of glhf.tv and day[9] could possibly redefine peoples view on online stream entertainment. However, day[9] is very sad to realize that he don't really want to. He feel It is basically too much hassle and is worried that he would alienate his current fan base, which have by now grown accustomed to his current Striderdoom livestream URL.

Now day[9] also expresses that he is not too sure about this format. If glhf.tv is really that interested, perhaps in the future they could contact him directly and renegociate without going through third parties.

As I am a big fan of glhf.tv I must honestly say that I am not particularly thrilled that day[9] feel this way.
It is in my view that glhf.tv's ultra crisp online stream is, by far, the only one which could render and do justice to day[9]'s super handsome face in full 1080p glory. Lag free.

Oh, and moar 2v2v2v2 BGH please! ^^
