Why should Starcraft 2 have an option to disable it from a perspective, do we automatically assume that most people cannot recognise the unit due to the skin?

I'll laugh my ass off if blizzard can milk it, I never understood why having a different skin would even be worth the time selecting it... they are not gonna milk it, no micro transaction planned for these skin. It's cool for some and just leave it at that. It doesn't take long to select the skin anyway seriously people have a reason to hate everything

What would be really cool is adding costum dyes as leveling up rewards so you can make your personalized unit. Imagine (speed)zerglings with yellow wings ![]()

A level up and xp system combined with these type of rewards is all part of their big plan to encourage more casual/newer players to get into the SC2 ladder.

However I haven't really heard why it would be a negative besides it would confuse people, I remember quite early into Dota 2 when Valve announced that it would be F2P with only micro transactions that people were campaigning for some kind of option to turn of cosmetics from their perspective but that eventually died down. Why should Starcraft 2 have an option to disable it from a perspective, do we automatically assume that most people cannot recognise the unit due to the skin? Yes, because it reduces readability, especially for new players, or new esports watchers. Having an option would also prevent joke models. For example, at Blizzcon, Blizzard always gives out joke WoW pets, joke SC2 portraits etc, it's pretty much inevitable that they will now give out joke skins, given their history. Also, subjectively, it doesn't look good that there are many variants of the same unit. The game would look better if it was standardized and all units of the same type look the same. The only distinction should be color, and given that color is enough to distinguish different units, there does not need to be any more customization that we are forced to see. Plus, it's an option, if you want to see skins, then sure, why not. Therefore, I see no reason not to add an option. Funny that you brought up Dota 2, because that game actually does look like a joke. Pirate Tidehunter... WTF.
