I got access denied too, but then I tried copying the Image URL and pasting it directly to the address bar and opening it from there. That did the trick. They are just some old concept art for Kerrigan I think.

In Heart of the Swarm, you play a living godess. Will the "invunerability" thing feel even worse in HotS? I don't think so, since in WoL you had a tough crew of veterans and plenty of mercenaries to ally with. In HotS you're a monster almost everyone hates, except with barely any of your powers left. If anything my main worry is that HotS won't have enough memorable characters on the Zerg side. So far we've only seen two, and I don't know if they'll be interesting enough. Hell, one of them just screams "Zerg adjutant" to me, with all the absence of personality that goes with it.

But when an interviewers commented that Abathur sounded like a butler, Brian Kindregan was uncomfortable and said they would improve the characters... I mean, this is him acknowledging the lack of personality of one of the characters. If they are aware of it, it is very possible that they may have improved it since last year. They also added, by BlizzCon time, the female Protoss character that wasn't there before. I say they were looking for solutions. How many solutions may they had found in a year? I hope that enough... But I have the impression we're gonna see SPOILERS + Show Spoiler + Tychus (see JoJo's interview with Neil Kaplan) and Stukov, maybe on Kerrigan's side Jim, Val and Zeratul will interact with her at some point; and probably they will fill the void of human characters giving more screen time to antagonists then they did in WoL. So we got strong characters as Arcturus and Warfield, and I believe the Daelam Protoss commanders are going to be relevant in HotS, maybe even a continued rivalry between Kerrigan and a Protoss. In other words, few stars in the main cast, but a lot of special guests.

Kaldir is a map where you need to get the special mission-specific upgrade in order to win, and the protoss is spread out over the whole map. It's also a covert ops kind of map, I'm not even sure you get your own base at it. What I'm talking about is the kind of map where the enemy has one concentrated base, and they are bunkering it up like hell. They will let you take the whole map, but every minute you spend taking bases is another minute they spend building tanks and planetary fortresses. Like the final mission in WoL (or the last protoss mission in WoL), except you're playing as the zerg and you're trying to run them over.

I'd be a fan of this, but not timed like with the artifact or the Zero Hour Mission. Let them get defenses and upgrades, but don't have a set time limit like "if you don't kill them in 30 minutets the artifact activates". Although in All In IIRC the Terran would have been toast if Kerrigan just took some mutalisks around the back and started at the mineral line and worked her way up.

I mean, BWs story isn't high literature or anything, but there's a grittiness and subtlety I think to BW and the original SC. The protoss missions and the ghost missions in WoL get close to some of the magic in SC. I'm hoping for more of that...
