I unintentionally killed the Leviathan with an exploding platform. It never even got close to my forces. I wouldn't have expected that to be possible. This of course is no big deal, but hopefully you get a chuckle from it, or try it yourself.
I was having fun messing around with hive emulators, kicking back and taking it easy on "hard" difficulty, more or less trying to see how large a zerg force I could amass.
I had an overwhelming force of battlecruisers, and a zerg army of ultras, hydras, mutas, brood-lords and medivacs. Tired of collecting zerg, I attacked the northwest platform with my BCs while simultaneously attacking the south-west platform with my zerg/medivac force. I destroyed the cooling towers within 20 seconds of each other, at most.
After the north platform exploded, the leviathan spawned at the south platform. . . and didn't "get clear!," as Raynor urges. After the platform exploded, it was gone.
I had lol, since I was making an easy mission as easy as possible. . . and accidentally made it even easier.

lol xD. how did you get zerg units in that mission

Hive mind emulator. I just built more and more and more of them. . . Unlike some missions, there's no end of resources in this one.

Cool stuff :p It's weird that it can't just fly away :S What dya mean by that there's no end of resources? I mean there's like 4 bases or so that you can take but aside from that, you're pretty much broke.

Oh, I expanded as much as possible. I took the Northern expo first (i.e. northwest of the first platform you blow), then the east one. And of course, each platform leaves a pile of resources once it blows.
I left a few BCs and the banshees given to me to guard the north expo, and left my zerg at the other expo.
I was playing on hard and I wasn't in any kind of rush. . . I had just finished a paper for school and I was just unwinding.

If you have the ghost upgrade for them to be cloaked without using energy, just mass them and snipe the crap out of him.

This should be made into an achievement by Blizzard with a punny name.
|
Eh, coding by Blizzard. It was probably set to destroy everything on the platform, flying or not. Nice find though, I'll go try it out tomorrow.

i killed it by suiciding science vessels 1 at a time to irradiate it to death :DDDDD

I just yamated it a couple of times than used whatever mutas I had that I mind controlled and the towers a couple of times. Your method was much more efficient though XD

I massed Gol's and Vikings, if I remember correctly. Had pretty much a critical mass of them.

Lol there are just so much ways to troll in the Campaign. I just did it the old fashioned style, Marine Medic with a squad of Vikings. The vikings died kind of fast without doing anything to the Leviathan (but they paid for themselves killing the Brood Lords and Mutalisks) but my Marine Medic army was already too large.
