Hi everyone,

I went through the guidelines of the forum to make sure I wouldn't brake any rules. I'm just wondering if anyone has been able to beat single player 1v2 insanes in starcraft2 with Terran? Haven't been able to find any replays nor strategies.

Thx!

Do you just want the achievement? It's pretty easy if you do that mineral gathering map (maybe it's called super nova?). There's another thread about it in the SC2 Single Player forum if you search a bit. You can beat any number of insane opponents very easily, using any race.

Obvious fake Athene account is obvious.
But anyway, you're better off using the race Athene claims to play to do this. You've no chance of winning a macro game and the easiest way I've found to do this is to select a shared base and just cannon rush. You need to start building the pylon a good distance away though because AI has fog of war haxx and will send all workers to attack if you're too close.

Thx for the replies. I'm not after the in-game achievement and am wondering if it is possible to beat 2v1 insanes with Terran in a macro game and if anyone did it since i couldn't find any strategies or replays.

Yes it is. You just need to be smarter than the computer.

I got the Orlan Portrait by floating to an island and massing 3/3 battlecruisers. To be honest though, you could probably just drop your expansion there as well.

Yes it is. You just need to be smarter than the computer.

I find it quite unlikely intelligence is a factor when you're 2v1'ing with both enemies starting the game with the equivalent to a high yield. Regardless of your skill, their first push would dominate anyone.

No, you just need to be smarter than the computer and abuse their inferior AI. They will out macro you, but you need to out think them if you want to win a long game.

Should be pretty easy on the 4 player island map by Blizzard. Early expand, turret up, mass BCs.
I'll call Nada.

Is there actually any replays that show how to do it? Because the ideas in the thread don't work so far.

He said 1v2 insanes, not insane FFA.

He's not trying to cheese an achievement. He want's to actually outplay 2 insane computers (or find out if it's possible).

Unfortunately I can't think of any way to do it without abusing/cheesing AI. (Drops/reapers in both bases when their army is on your doorstep so they retreat to defend. Building/cancelling structures to interrupt mining time. etc.)

There's no way to survive without exploiting cheese. They will brute force destroy you.

I was asking this in a thread a while ago and no one appears to have done it yet with any race combination. I was theorycrafting this is possible by getting a reaper early on and constantly harrasing to draw their forces back to their base while you macro a substantial attack force.
It will be tricky as it is gg if you lose the reaper and it will require high APM.

Straight reapers maybe viable like it is in co-op but you might not be able to pull an enemy attack before the damage is done, I will try it sometime.

It is, you just have to either cheese, exploit terrain, or 2 base turtle. AI lategame is terrible and if you manage to drag the game on that long you win. But playing straight up... probably not.

You can try early teching to banshees, and then poke them in the back. Every time you poke, their entire army turns around. Doing this (just a quick poke every 30 seconds). you can completely immobilize the opponents.

Thx for all the feedback, everything i have read so far didn't work though. Is it btw humanly possible to beat 3 insanes with Terran (not FFA) or is that just out of question without exploiting? I'm just wondering if the gap between incredible skill and computer AI can be that big as I'm not very familiar with it?

did it on twilight fortress, against two zergs.

just went pure mass marines out of a million barracks with medivacs. attacked when 2/2 finished.

make a bunch of bunkers to survive their initial push, after that its a mid game push, then after that its ez breezy.
