[Q] Zero Hour secret Z research points

Sek-Kuar Czech Republic593 Posts November 25 2010 15:28 GMT #1 Hi, few day ago I started new campaign, but after playing 5 missions (Mar Sara + Evacuation & Outbreak) I noticed I have 8 Z research points instead of 5 I should have. One guy told me I get 3 (secret) zerg research points in Zero Hour (20 min hold before Matt in Hyperion arrives) for saving 3 groups of marines... I really didnt like campaign, but Im sure Ill play it few more times (before HoT etc...), but I want to know if there is (another) bug, that gives me free research points - I want to play campaign now too, but not really with something like this... So please tell me how can I have 8 Z research points instead of 5 Thanks

Iyerbeth England2410 Posts November 26 2010 13:35 GMT #4 Yeah there aren't any research points on Zero Hour at all. Here are the possible research points from the levels you've indicated you've done. Liberation Day: None The Outlaws: None Zero Hour: None The Evacuation: 3 Zerg Outbreak: 2 Zerg Which of course is the 5 you stated. I dont know of any bugs but is it possible you or someone else completed The Devil's Playground for you (available after The Evacuation mission) which gives 3 Zerg research points (making you up to 8)? You can check in the mission archives on the bridge. I dont know of any bugs to get extra research myself, but that would fit your numbers and be doable. Edit: Also providing you aim for the objectives on levels you'll easily finish with more than 25/25 and that means the only advantage you'd gain if it waas a bug is slightly earlier zerg tech (by maybe 1 mission) which you could always postpone by 3 if you like, and then 30,000 credits after maxing zerg out, which isn't enough to buy anything, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Sek-Kuar Czech Republic593 Posts November 26 2010 15:25 GMT #5 @Iyerbeth: I have played only that 5 missions I posted, and I got 8 ZRP for them...:/ I actually did some tests yesterday, and started 2 new campaigns and played Mar Sara + 2 more missions (I didnt acquire any research points in this additional missions) and after unlocking laboratory, in both games after saving marines/sacrificing them I always had 3 ZRP. So it seems like Im starting with 3 free ZRP or dont know, does anyone have experiences with this? I have finished campaign few times already, but never noticed this before...

MindRush Romania916 Posts November 26 2010 18:24 GMT #6 did you play a mission once on normal and then on hard ? any other kind of things like that can glitch and give you the zerg/toss research all over again, if you unlock new achievements. don't worry about that, campaign is nothing, it's not like any1 is cheating or something

Point is that even though I really didnt like this campaign, and IMO all this fancy new stuff like choosing mission order or this choices or so only destroy story and balance of missions, Ill still play it again before HoS and LoV release for sure So I want to find a way to enjoy is as much as possible, w/o bugs etc., and possibly report it so its not gonna happen in HoS again... I still kinda hope SC2 SP will be at least little good
