Honestly, the air is not a problem at all, although the nydus mission might be very difficult on brutal since the recharge time on your abilities is pretty long, and you don't get very many troops along the way. For dealing with broodlords/other air - have some missile turrets on the high ground and hotkey a group of hell's angels/vikings to deal with Broodlords. Throw in some goliaths for good measure. If you have the vikings splash and range, missile turret upgrades, and goliath range upgraded, all the air just melts too quickly...

+ Show Spoiler +Nova does replace tosh on your ship. Just click on the ghost gun in your armory and she'll eventually appear.
|
I sided with Nova to get Tosh and his annoying voice off my ship.
Doctor chick because I was interested in the cure for the infestation virus (which they didn't follow up on at all, sadly)
and took out air, because I figured tanks and PFs could destroy everything on the ground.
|
I sided with Tosh because the Spectre is a cool unit
Protoss because I wanted to kill zerg, not protoss. Also the doctor chick is mad annoying. Always wants me to fuckin do shit.
Took out air because I like to use tanks.
|
I saved the colony because I figured Jim is the classic "good guy", and saving people's just what he's all about. Easy choice.
Sided with Tosh simply because I wanted to see Spectres. I've seen ghosts before. Yeah they're awesome, but I wanna see new units!!!!
I took out the Zerg air base just because I f***ing hate broodlords.
On my next playthrough though I'm going to do the opposite to see the other missions.

Since this is a spoiler thread, what happens to Kerrigan? dies or smt?
(pm me or something)

i sided with the doctor-girl cause i remember she's kissing raynor in the trailer. I thought it was more than just a kiss on the cheek, im such a pervert
|
I sided with the protoss because they are cool I sided with tosh because i was interesting in seeing a spectre, and ghosts are in multiplayer i chose to get rid of the nydus for a reason i forget now.

Protoss Tosh Air-mission No regrets
|
Picking the toss over the doc was the easiest choice i've ever had to make in the history of games.
She was annoying in every possible way. From bad voice acting to a terrible character I couldn't wait to get rid of her.
I picked Tosh (holy hell is he powerful) but I kinda regret it. His voice is pretty annoying too and Nova is fucking hot. At some point i'll go back and do it differently.
Haven't gotten to the last one yet but I will 100% get rid of zerg air before ground.

I choose to purify the colony, mainly because the protoss research from that mission allowed me to get my techreactor but also because I main protoss and I really didn't care for the colonists.
I choose tosh's mission because I am aware that I'm not going to get to tap Nova, Tosh is a BAMF and breaking out the prision sounded more fun than Nova's mission
|
I chose to purify for the research points. It got me some arbitrary upgrade at the time.
I chose tosh because I already knew what Ghosts do, so I wanted to see Specters in action (I don't regret it)
I chose to take out Nydus because fuck Nyduses and because Zerg air is uber weak vs Terran (Thor + Viking, what can you do?). Of course, I ended up mostly skipping the Thors and just making 6 or so of the Zerg Mind Control buildings you get from the research tree and taking over every Muta, Corruptor, and Broodlord that came into range. I ended the mission with something like 35 mutas.

+ Show Spoiler +does the doctor survive if you choose to find a cure instead of purging the colony?
|
yes she does survive if u choose the other path.
in fact, the same thing happens with the josh path. no matter what you have chosen, subsequent event always provide evidence to support your action as righteous.
|
I like Raynor's history with the Protoss more than his relationship with the doctor, so she had to go. And I really hate the annoying surprise that is a nydus worm, so I took care of that. (14 tanks and then a swarm of BCs and vikings made the last level a cakewalk. Splash damage in the air is win.)
.....sorry Tosh, Nova's just too hot. You had a cool voice while you lasted, but you can't compete with + Show Spoiler +![[image loading]](http://blogs.gamefilia.com/files/imce/u409360/nova.jpg) this.

look at that hot ass *drooling*

Ghosts are much more useful than spectres, get better upgrades, and Nova's mission is much funner. I purged the colony on a whim.

You might regret it if you knew the awesomeness the Ghosts get from the armory.
|
I chose to help the protoss because I would rather make a huge ally then score some ass. Also, killing a few to save them more seemed like the right thing to do and because Raynor's alliance was originally with the protoss.
I betrayed Tosh because I thought he would betray me. Plus, I think Raynor would rather destroy the wicked and help his enemy than the converse.
I did the zerg air but in retrospect I would probably be better off taking out nydus worms for completing brutal. Not to mention that the mission to get rid of nydus worms was totally sweet.

sided with crew members both times.
I played the other side of those choices, and wtf those feel so wrong. Nova lies to get you to betray Tosh and then kills him wtf. fuck that
and poor doctor lady
