So I've done every mission in the game on hard now except this one, and it doesnt appear to be in my mission list. (all of the others I missed along the way did)

Anyone have this mission and could anyone tell me where/how to get it?

I made a thread about this, titled 25/26? Basically, you need to have not done the char missions or have a save file from before going to Char. Go to media blitz and in the lower right hand corner of the map is a science facility. Destroy it, get documents, then finish mission. After it's done, go to your star map and there it will be.

You gotta destroy the south eastern building (it's huge, get there through the mineral line) in the Media Blitz mission, and it will tell you that a secret mission was unlocked.

have you had to have done it during hte campaign or can you do it through the mission selector aswell?

yeah so i started a new campaign played the first few missions on hard, then did media blitz on normal just to unlock this.. yeah... i still dont have it available..

It won't be on the mission list in the mission archives, it'll be on the star map

hahahahaha ok so... i did it again, i saved before (i killed the science facility thank god). i didnt see that there was an item i had to pick up haha i just killed it with a goliath then took off the first time.

Alright I had a save game on media blitz, went back and destroyed the research facility and got the secret document and it said secret mission unlocked. I finish the mission but it just takes me back to the mission archive and not inside the Hyperion? It doesn't show in the mission archive so I guess you must access it through the star map.. I've tried rushing through a new casual campaign to get back on the ship but mission isn't there either.
Can anyone provide me with any further insight?

*first check if you are 25/26 missions completed
*check the mengsk portrait achievement and see if you are missing the level "unveiling the shroud" or w/e
^if so read ahead.
unveiling the shroud is a "secret mission" you have to unlock on the "media frenzy" level with the thors. there is a science facility in the southeast that you can kill that will reveal hidden documents and unlock the secret level. the level is actually quite crucial to the story

Appreciate the replies, but maybe you didn't read my post right. On the first sentence I said I already got the hidden document. My problem is I'm not taken back to the ship to get to the star map for the mission when I finish media blitz, or abort mission(both should take me back to ship)
Goes straight back to mission archive which does not show it.

you cant load Media Blitz from the archive and get it, you have to load a save earlier in the campaign when you were on the media blitz mission and then do it (move a media blitz save form the unsaved folder to the campaign folder)

it will still say 25/26 but atleast youll get the portraits

Such a poorly designed mission choice...they better fix it in a patch so you can access it in the archives >_>.

Ya, I didnt start a new media blitz from mission archive. I had a save file of media blitz which I loaded to get the secret mission, but still takes me back to archive >.<
So frustrating..just want to get this done so I can start on multiplayer. But again thanks for the input guys if anyone else has any ideas I would much appreciate it!

Oh definitly, it's ridiculous. I'm going to play through a campaign as quickly as possible and unlock it (since I unfortunately don't have any saves prior to or during Media Blitz, the first save I even made was after the first Char mission). Too bad that I won't get a darned 26/26 on my first playthrough, that just irks me.

I actually started a new campaign on normal just to rush through to get this done.. but then I realized a lot of the missions are time based so you wouldn't really be able to speed it up that much..
Still, there are plenty of people that seem to have fixed this with a load(which doesn't work for me anyway) so I'm still trying to find a way round it. I don't mind it staying on 25/26 that much as long as I get my achievement

if your old loads are too far away, you find the load by going into the actual userdata, just search one of the mission names in your users folder on your comp and you should find all the replay folders

Well that's the thing, my load isn't far away at all cause I saved game on media blitz itself while I was still doing the campaign. From there I got the secret document and completed the mission but it just goes back to the archive mission list.
I will have to try from the userdata folder of one of the older auto saves and hope for the best when I get home in an hour..

So, if you go into the Unsaved area of your replays folder you can find the autosaves from the Media Blitz mission and just load that up. Should save you guys a bunch of time.

I don't know if this was fixed in the recent patch, but I was finished with all of the main missions up to, but not including the Char missions when I found out about the hidden mission. I went back to the archive mission list, loaded up Media Blitz, completed the mission after destroying the building, and Piercing the Shroud was waiting for me on the Star Map. I didn't need to load up any save files at all.

this mission in brutal was hell hard. it took me like 20 or 30 load/saves to finish it.

the only thing hard about this mission on brutal wass getting the achievement to not lose any units to the brutalisk :>

Why should I have to complete a 'Secret' misson to get my 26/26 missions for my portrait? Bs! Some people don't save all the time

Because a Secret Mission is still a Mission.
26/26 = all missions including the secret one, simple as that.

Go to your documents and Starcraft II until you get to Saves\Unsaved. In there is every single autosave, just load up the last Media Blitz one. Then either continue as normal, or do all achievements then load up your last victory save.
