Feeling better abotu your self!
I started picking up running 2 3 miles every day only porb is when i quit cross country in high school i picked up a nasty habit of drinking 2 3 Pepsi's a day I'm not fat fuck I'm skinny but it's done shit to my heart.
Anyone have any suggestion for a cheap drink i can take about 2 3 times a day, prefer a container form but if not ill just buy one, that cost about the same to buy. I hate water taste like well WATER!

You can just get bottled water, but stick a teabag in there and stick it in the fridge over night to make weak iced tea. Yeah, it's not great but I prefer the taste of weak tea to water so =/
or you can drink diet soda...but I'm not sure how healthy that is.

You should chill dude. Being healthy and working out can be a life-long process, so one day of bad eating won't make a difference in the long run. BTW you do not look overweight in the slightest.

I'm pretty sure there were tons of reports about diet soda being just as bad or worse for you than regular soda.

I used to weigh 200+ pounds (I'm 6 ft tall), but I lost about 38 pounds in 5 months by running/walking around a local track for 30~45 minutes maybe 3~4 times a week. Well.. I lost 25 pounds the first 2 months, then maintained that for 2 months, then lost the rest in a month.
At first, I didn't really pay too much attention to my diet though.. I love nachos, fried chicken, and beer, all you can eat, etc. But once I started losing like 5 pounds, cutting down on food just came naturally...
Sure, girls love the muscles, but I like myself w/o the 6 pack and the muscles better.. :D running is the best exercise for people who just wanna lose some weight :D

Well its mostly basketball practice and we focus alot on physical fitness, its easier with a short mexican dude yelling at you to do it, without that i couldnt either lol ^_^, ontop of that i try to walk/jog a mile or two with my ipod and try out new music i can never run for more then 5min without my ipod its a crutch. But my main problem is i cant avoid the sweets, i got abs but my ass fat my friend called me bubble butt like last week ever since then i been major self concious but still having trouble resisting that extra cookie ; ;.

dam man, track preseason is starting for me
i don't know if this counts because I dont have weight goals, but as a senior, I would love to break certain times. My goals are:
Mile - 4:39 (current best 4:50) 2 Mile - 10:10 (current best 10:40)
its my last chance this year, so im gonna make the preseason training count so i can perform my best when im actually in season. and i really need to try sleeping more, at least 8 hours a day.

At least it has SIGNIFICANTLY less calories (sometimes zero calories). It is definitely healthier than regular soda in that respect.

Actually, the good answer would be to drink neither. If someone want to drink something go for 100% juices.

Diet soda, which contains artificial sweetners, damages your teeth both in density and color.
|
Wow... missing the point. I'm not saying diet soda is healthier than juices, water, etc. I'm just talking strictly from calorie intake, which is an important factor in losing weight obviously. There are healthier choices, which I encourage everyone to do, but if you "must" have one, then diet is better.
About the artificial sweeteners being more damaging... a lot of that is BS. Coffee and soda both are bad for your teeth - that's true. So artificial sweeteners aren't the issue there.

Bump. Weekend is coming up people, make sure you remember that Saturday and Sunday count as actual days as well. Which means whatever you do and eat will still count. I'm going to hit the gym for a couple of hours Saturday morning and try some new things as it's usually pretty quiet on the weekend.

I haven't signed up for the fitness initiative, mostly because I don't know what my goal is (I guess it'd be getting more ripped, but that's hard to measure directly). Anyway, I think it'd be fun to post in this thread to track my progress.
So I started counting calories and eating only the right stuff, while working out every day (mostly cardio, but also lifting 2-3 times a week). So far it has paid off - I've lost 3 pounds this week, and I can already see a little difference on my body.
Age: 23, Height: 5'8'', Weight right now: 162 lbs/73.5 kg.

This was a blog but only one person replied, please read and help
So I've finally started the initiative to start exercising more this year, a big thanks to Energies that started a list of people wanting to become more fit. I've been lifting more weights; but there's this one type of weight lifting and I'm not sure what it's suppose to work out, it's on the arm though. You lie down like you're gonna bench but instead there are weights you can put on the side and you put your arms out like a cross and you lift your arms. I do that, bench pressing (I can only lift about 100-110 but I can't do many reps so I'm working out with less weights but more reps.) I'm also working on my legs and not sure what those work on either.
That's what my set of weights look like, I'm not sure what the things on the side and legs work on.
With weights, does lifting too much cause you to go slower? I'm also gonna start playing basketball in YMCA, it's my first time playing in an organized league and I'm pretty excited; it was a motivation for me to start exercising and lifting weights. Well, I'm not very tall, 5'7 so I guess I want to be quick but also be kinda strong. I have also started doing sit ups to try to lose my stomach fat, it's actually pretty annoying and I can make it move like the worm (dance). It actually got me alot of attention but I wanna get rid of it!Another thing I found out was drinking green tea helps your skin look better so I've been drinking that, I hope it helps (or it's some placebo effect!)
The reason why I made this blog is because so I can keep myself motivated and get encouragement (hopefully )Please tell me anything else I should do to try to improve my health and be more fit. Thanks

Btw I got the ultimate challenge to help me push my laziness and work out like a beast. 1 July I have a free fight against my colleague. 6 months to prepare including and we have a personal trainer for 5 hours a week at our disposal.

Those are called chest flies. For legs, squats are the best lift evarrrr. then make sure you supplement them with things like calf raises, leg curls, lunges, leg extension, dead lifts, etc.

Thanks Obviously the lighter the weight is the faster you can rep it and vice versa. Basketball is good cardio. You could also start working on your vertical rise for basketball with box jumps and such. Sprints are always good too Sit ups has very little to do with losing fat. It just builds up your abs. There are two aspects to having a six pack: a) low body fat % and b) ab size. You need to have a healthy combo of the two to look ripped. To get rid of that belly fat (and all your fat, you cant just target your stomach) just do cardio cardio cardio and more cardio. I prefer running and sports, but you can do shit like the biike and elliptical or jump roping. Anything that gets your heart pumping. The other part is the abs themselves, which you need to make bigger so they show through your skin. Make sure you work out all parts of your abs, not just doing sit ups. Things like leg lifts, scissors, ab twists, and the like are good. You can try torrenting the p90x ab workout, it works you real good and covers all the bases. Doing that with running a couple miles a day over the summer really helped my stomach ~~
