colts gave up a shit ton of cap room they would have spent on a veteran qb anyway.

Ugh
Going from one of the best QBs in the league in 2017 to this fiasco. I guess I'm glad it's done now and he's gone, but this has been a huge organizational failure by the Eagles.
Although I think one of the injuries Wentz took (maybe the ridiculous Clowney hit) is clearly having long term effects

I think you are right. We look at your average recovery, or even a speedy recovery like Adrian Peterson, and don't realize that recovery isn't standard. Sometimes somebody is Derrick Rose and they are on the opposite end of the spectrum and the injury just never fully heals. Sometimes its just slow and a player's game gets totally thrown off. Its not like he was Peyton Manning before he got hurt. He's a raw talent that used his legs a lot. Imagine Lamar losing .2 off his 40 time and 10% of his wiggle. No one would bat an eye when his production dropped, even though its kinda not seemingly that much, but it is at that level.

Seems like Russel Wilson is joining Watson on the QQ QB train. The more I examine the situations of both I think they are akshullally untradeable from their current team's POV. In many ways, the current team is probably better off just letting them sit out a whole season than they would be if they traded Watson/Wilson.
Firstly, its way underplayed in the media how huge the dead cap hit will be. Both teams would, essentially, be unable to sign free agents for 2 years if they trade the QB. Given that, 2 first round picks isn't even enough compensation to compensate for the dead cap hit! You probably need 2 firsts and 2 seconds merely to account for the cap!
So, then how much is the QB worth on top of the value of the dead cap? A first round pick that is in the top 5 + another + 4 of 2nd-3rd round picks is probably right.
So, to get "value" we are talking a top 5 first + 3 other firsts + 2 2nds + 4 3rds. I don't think a team can actually offer that, but that is the only way to make the deal make sense for the team dealing the QB.

Well, at least with Goff, they were basically trading their dead cap with a team that also was having dead cap. It kind of (not fully) cancelled out. And Wentz, IMO, basically was this. He got traded for nothing, the picks were just compensation for eating the dead cap.

And Peyton Manning's career was basically ended by that injury he took. His arm strength went on a fast downward spiral after it. He had maybe 2 good years with Denver after the injury?

Manning would have been much better off with an ACL injury than what he got though. Whatever happened caused lots of nerve problems that made his arm unable to keep its strength.

did that surgery end Bradshaw's career?
its funny how the DR contradicts himself in this article. If this kind of error were published today about a top NFL QB the firestorm would be huge.

I think it was more of him trying to come back too early multiple times from it that ended his career.

“At 3:30pm she was sitting on a chair at her post when Derrius Guice and several other men approached her. He began saying that he ‘likes older women’ and asked if she would have sex with him. She was shocked and told him that was not funny. He continued to gesture at his private area and grab himself in front of her saying that ‘older women are my thing’ and that they could just ‘go off and do it’ somewhere. She told him that she is a grandmother and 70 years old and that he shouldn’t talk to people that way. The other men began to laugh. She tried to tell him how disgusting it was that he would treat her that way but he kept talking about sex as he got into an elevator and left.
“She reported to her supervisor and that person called the Coach at LSU. He said that Derrius was probably just kidding around and that Derrius came from a broken home. She said that she did not care and that he should be punished for his behavior. She said that he did it with such ease that she felt like he had done this before. The coach asked what she wanted, ‘an apology?’ She told him that she wanted Derrius to sit out from a game — the bowl game. He dismissed her and no one has returned her call or done anything.”
wtf?

The more you read about this, the more disgusting it is (if that's even possible).
