I think this is still a competitive series. Then Divincenzo is also a really good rebounder for the position. ah ok. I think Divencenzo is a much better play maker and ball mover.. however.. i haven't seen enough of him to say for certain.

I think Lue pulled the right strings last night. He made good adjustments.

Tensile strength is proportional to cross sectional area. Muscles get a lot bigger and thicker when trained. Tendons and ligaments do not get much bigger at all. The tendons and ligaments of these athletes can no longer withstand the force their giant muscles can exert.

How many currently active starting pitchers in MLB can you name that have had a stretch of 4 seasons where they started 32 or more games? There are ~150 starting pitchers. I'll bet you the number with 4+ seasons of health AT ANY POINT in their career is under 5. ![]()

also, nothing i say on such a frivolous issue can be deemed "epicly bad". it is a frivolous issue. Alexa Bliss got her ass slapped by a fan at a WWE event. Somehow, she survived. She worked a full program the very next night that included a 24 minute match with a 720 corkscrew piledriver off the 2nd turnbuckle. A very hard move to pull off. I guess Alexa Bliss is tougher than Russell Westbrook.

Both his knee and groin on the same side are hurting. I think if AD plays he'll be a shadow of himself; i say he'll probably get hurt trying to compensate for his knee and groin if he does play. maybe i'm being nostalgic but i think Gasol should play some of AD's minutes. I've liked what I've seen from him lately. On May 23 2021 00:35 JimmiC wrote: First wow are you passive aggressive! Someone? lol. Next the stat that for years you used to prove he was bad, in spite of what people like Lowe and so one were saying was DRPM, it was the best all encompassing stat and everything else was wrong. He finished as the 4th best defending SF! http://www.espn.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/sort/DRPM/position/5 And no shit you play better defense with better teammates, that was my point all along. And here is Kerr talking about Wiggins multiple times! He had his most efficient year, his best defensive year as usual he played big minutes and played every game other then when they rested him in the second last game. https://fadeawayworld.net/nba-media/steve-kerr-sarcastically-calls-out-andrew-wiggins-haters-i-dont-know-if-you-guys-know-this-but-people-actually-change-and-evolve https://sports.yahoo.com/steve-kerr-praises-andrew-wiggins-165829950.html https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/warriors/warriors-andrew-wiggins-impresses-steve-kerr-most-one-specific-area https://fadeawayworld.net/nba-media/steve-kerr-praises-andrew-wiggins-hes-looked-fantastic-since-the-break https://fadeawayworld.net/nba-media/steve-kerr-on-andrew-wiggins-were-very-much-thrilled-to-have-him-here-its-been-a-good-fit-i-know-were-happy Here is him locking down LBJ the other night! https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/warriors/andrew-wiggins-blocks-lebron-hits-3-his-face-epic-stretch You are having to stretch pretty hard for you Wiggins hate these days, it is basically pathological. No one thinks the Twolves won the trade, Wiggins way out preformed Russell AND the 1st pick, damn! I understand you can't let this go, or ever possibly admit that you might be wrong. But Wiggins is a solid NBA wing it is not even a discussion any more. Edit: Wiggins traditional numbers this year and how they ranked for SF and I should mention this is averages because he played 1 less then the most games and likely the most total minutes so in totals he would be way higher. Pts: 18.6 (11th) Rebs: 4.9 (14th) AST 2..4 (15th) Stl (.9) (14th) Blk 1 (2nd) He also had a effective FG% of .543 the highest of his career and a number to be proud of. And he just turned 26. Hes not a max player inspite of his contract, but he is also far from the worst max player. He is a solid, better than average SF in the NBA. And he played the 6 most minutes in the entire NBA. yep, when Wiggins is surrounded by one of the best offensive point guards of all time along with one of the best playing making power forwards in the NBA he is an above average efficiency scorer. When not under these incredibly favourable conditions Wiggins is a very inefficient scorer. Wiggins is "Mr October". He brings early season and pre-season intensity levels to every game he plays. This level of effort is good early in the season and inadequate when it comes to qualifying for a playoff spot. He was very passive on offense only drawing 1 shooting foul in the 2 play-in games. Did he draw a single charge during those 2 games? What position was Wiggins playing when the Grizzlies scored their 104th and 110th points at the end of that play-in game? Doris Burke correctly diagnosis the problems with Wiggins on offense. "that video right there, to me, is damning" The Warriors are the worst team in the NBA when Steph Curry is not on the floor. https://www.reddit.com/r/warriors/comments/mky4e8/the_2021_warriors_are_the_worst_team_in_the_nba/ Wiggins is a contributor to how bad the Warriors are without Steph on the floor. Wiggins will be 27 and have 1 career playoff win. This is no big coincidence. He does not bring the level of intensity and attention to detail required to put a team in the playoffs.

He finished as the 4th best defending SF! many defensive metrics indicated Wiggins is a poor defender during many years of his career. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-nba-haters-ball/?ex_cid=538twitter One thing I'd like to say about RPM. ESPN bought the stat and methodology off of Engelmann. Engelmann is no longer in charge of it. No individual is putting their personal reputation on the line now that it is under EPSN's control ESPN is now misusing the stat by giving RPM #s so early in the year and providing daily updates. RPM requires large amounts of data to be meaningful. These daily RPM updates are pointless. https://squared2020.com/2017/09/18/deep-dive-on-regularized-adjusted-plus-minus-i-introductory-example/ Bayesian filters require large amounts of data to work properly. That said, an entire season of data begins to provide enough data for a properly crafted Bayesian filter. I'm just going to assume Engelmann knows what he is doing and crafted a good filter. If he did not do that the stat would've been crap from the start and ESPN would have zero interest in it. As it is the stat has been alive and well for many years. For a more thorough and rigourous discussion of regression methods and their costs and benefits we can head to the math thread if you like. In order to discuss an issue like regression filters and understand it in terms of first principles you'll need to be able to do basic operations with matrices. Stuff like orthogonal diagonalization of real symmetric matrices, computing eigenvalues and eigenvectors etc. How much of a background in linear algebra do you have? I've got 2 years. So I'd say I'm barely literate in this area. If a TL-er in the math thread possessing a deeper education in linear algebra than us wants to chime in .. that'd be great. Onto Wiggins, His FT% is a bit under 70% the last 5 years. That is below average. but not horrible. RPM indicates Wiggins was the ~15th best starting small forward in the NBA this year. That makes him an average starter for the first time in his career. Every other year Wiggins has been below average. I've already explained the extremely favourable conditions he is playing under on offense. On defense Kerr and Draymond Green have done a great job limiting his role as a defender that includes zero decision making. You'll notice when the Warriors are setting their defense WIggins says almost nothing. Green makes all the decisions. I'll give WIggins credit for listening to what Green tells him to do. Pull Green off the floor and Wiggins starts making the same mistakes on defense he has made throughout his career. So we have a #1 over all pick whose parents are the equivalent of athletic royalty meaning he won the genetic lottery. At 26 he has had 1 year as an average player under perfect conditions that mitigate his flaws. Every other year Wiggins has been a below average starter. Its pretty straightforward to conclude Wiggins is a below average starter. I find exploring the depths of Bayesian filters and regression methods more interesting than Wiggins. Distinguishing average , below average and above average players is quite difficult to do with #s alone. Any one can tell Lebron James is better than Delon Wright and just about any stat indicates that as well. A much tougher question is... can one craft a metric that can distinguish an average starter from a below average starter. Given a giant pile of data I think Engelmann's original RPM that he sold to ESPN a few years ago can do that.

If AD stays out and CP3 gets better, or vice versa it will just feel like a cheated series. TBH, it feels like we get a bunch of cheated series this year, and the last few years. I felt that Suns were done after game 2 after the annual CP3 playoff injury. Now it seems they are in control of the series with him seemingly healthy enough and AD being injured.

He's sure down to start dancing with Jay Crowder when we're up double digits though. Needed a massive performance from his "broad shoulders" tonight and he just blew the game off. Gotta love it.
