well i guess its the same result as if they fired the dude. ive thought the celtics needed a new coach after underachieving in the regular season and an early playoff exit and indeed they have done just that.
now will it be an old name taking over or will it be someone young and new?
it seems this year more than others, the playoffs is just going to be won by whoever can stay the healthiest, with a million injuries. the philly hype train basically just crashed and burned.
its clear that lebron is way less than 100%, we'll hear more after the lakers lose the series.
series of the first round only because all the other 3 are even worse than this one, and not because knicks/hawks series is actually any good, like only game 1 was close and after that the knicks just cant match the hawks in any facet of the game.

Im not sure Stevens is a bad coach, I just think that its increasingly impossible to be a classic good coach. Players seemingly only respect ex-players, who also (aside from like 3) also suck big donkey dick at all the parts of coaching other than fellating their players egos. This means coaching is getting worse, generally.
Also, the Celtics roster has been overperforming for most of his tenure, for sure. So he wasn't the problem. The problem was expectations created from the East being such shit for so long. Brown + Tatum is a decent pairing, but I don't think I'd put either in the top 20 of players. I'd certainly not put them top 3 duos in the East, or even top 9/10in the league.
On another somewhat related note.
I was driving home during Gottleib's show today and he made, IMO, a great point about Luka and Jokic: They are an indictment of the AAU and American youth basketball in general. The only American players that are in their class as basketball players are 1) More athletic, 2) Way moodier, and 3) More likely to bail. Its really a bad way to run the system. I've also heard, anecdotally, that, within the US we actually have similar kids, but they get left behind in AAU because that system basically only values athleticism early on and they get sent to the scrap heat before they can physically mature. This has really negative effects because a lot of the time the two are inversely correlated, meaning most smart American ballers get tossed aside.

Only worthwile players are lebron and maybe schoder
Don't you fucking dare. After these last two games Schroeder deserves nothing except criticism. So does Lebron. Quit on the team two games in a row.
For sure, Schroder started much better than it ended, but its not like the entire team was firing on all cilinders. IDK, lakers have bigger problems than lebron and schroder, Harrell and KCP arent exactly helping much too
KCP was hurt, I've never, NEVER been a fan of his but at least he can make that excuse.
Harrell is just trash. He should never have been picked up in the first place. We picked him up just to piss off the Clippers and that was clearly a stupid move.
We're never going to get value out of trading Kuzma, so may as well keep hoping he develops into a consistent role player, and Alex Caruso is always good for a positive +/- and no ego.
The rest of the bench on this team? They can be swapped around, I don't care.
without all the injuries, this was a team with the best record at the time. they need more consistent shooting, it was not good last year and it didnt improve this year. problem with schoder, is that the laker dont have any better options, maybe a sign and trade, but after the playoffs, i dont think he's gonna get the type of offers that he was expecting at the start/middle of the year.
soooo Lowry's shoulder was fucked in last year's playoffs and he kept it under wraps. sigh. CP3 revealed he has been talking to Lowry about how to deal with his shoulder problem.
Lowry is a fantastic defender, however, his level of physicality borders on recklessness and he gets injured in almost every playoff run.

Injuries always get worse as the year goes on. Putting together the best record through the first half of the season doesn't mean a lot.
Injury management is now an intrinsic facet of team strategy in all major pro sports. The Lakers gambled on a guy who is injured a lot ... and lost. AD is high risk... high reward. LBJ is aging and getting injured more often as all aging players do. meh.
In conclusion, I don't think the Lakers can use the injury excuse. They gambled and lost.

i disagree, LBJ deserves some credit.. .and some criticism. it'll be interesting to see if LBJ gets a surgical procedure performed on that ankle.
Speaking of ankle surgery, KelianQatar is having ankle surgery June 11. She won't be able to return to playing basketball or baseball until January. She should be back to doing squats by August though.
Here is a closer look at Embiid's knee injury. The result of a bad landing. Seeing how the meniscus is structured and how blood flow happens in the structure ... is pretty cool.
this video's upvote to downvote ratio is 250:1. i think he does some quality work and is full value for such a stupidly great upvote to downvote ratio. i recommend his other vids.. they are quite informative.
Luka is shooting better than playoff Steph Curry from 3, but worse than playoff Shaq from the free throw line.
This kid doesn't make sense sometimes. But I am captivated by how good he is. If he could hit his free throws he would be unstoppable. Even more than he already is.

Hmmm. Maybe he should ask Paul George to guard him during his free throws?
The one "good" thing about Luka's bad FT% is he doesn't seem to care about it except at the line. The problem for Giannis and Ben Simmons is it obviously affects their play in crunch time.
