I didn't want to subject myself to another discussion again but got trapped in the rabbithole.
Holy fuck. There should be a dataisbeautiful on the age and competence (skills, game knowledge) or people who engage in these debates online. Sports fans are a rabid tribal bunch. It gets too personal.

But according to the Internet, he would destroy his legacy if he made the finals and his record goes down to 3-6. Better not make the finals and stay at 3-5. In other news, Al Horford has now improved to 3-15 vs Lebron in the playoffs. this is a moronic strawman. the point of the 6/6 3/8 comparison is their finals performance. even if we disregard the playoff path to the finals discussion, it matters that one player showed to perform excellently in the finals and the other one doesnt, add to that all the control he has in choosing teams and teammates.
That's irrelevant. Jordan is a terrible GM and owner. Without Jerry Krause, he would've royally fucked up all those Bulls teams too.

Paul was limping around in the 2nd half. it'll be interesting to see if he continues to have leg problems and if it becomes a factor in the series.

Yeah, I don't think that the Rockets can count on too many more games where the Warriors shoot so poorly. Plus the Warriors just looked sloppy overall. It was one of those games where they just turned over the ball way too much.

and i thought Raptors fans had an inferiority complex.. this is hilarious... and there is a self reply to this tweet that lists more media people that picked Golden State.

Should even out the match up with Steph.

The Rockets mostly shot well too. They are built to be a high variance team. Morey correctly points out that that is the best way to knock off a team like the Warriors.

Yeah, the Rockets did shoot well, but they were getting a lot of easy looks in this game due, in part, to the Warriors turning the ball over so much, and also to the Warriors just not being as sharp on defense. Regardless, that game was almost certainly an anomaly.

So are we still claiming that Steph is hurt even though he dropped 24.5 ppg on the Pelicans on 48% FG shooting and 44% 3pt shooting? Cuz he seemed fine flexing against the Pelicans but now every time Houston destroys him in PnR I hear about how it's clear Curry isn't at 100%.

Did you read the article or just the title? It wasnt that they were respectful it was that they talked like he was still tge current coach. The twitter reactions were also funny.
the entire tweet was "congrats coach". are they supposed to say "congrats ex-coach"? everyone calls any coach, coach.

i accidentally voted for the wrong team because I was looking at the poll results instead of the poll itself.
I'm surprised so many have gone for Team AD over Team Curry. Team Curry has less people who need the ball and more spot up shooting. Team AD is more of a generalist team while Team Curry is more specialized.
As far as the Casey tweet, do people view those tweets as the voice of the organization? They seem more like a fan outreach voice.

Did the same thing, meant to vote team curry.

This seems to be the problem or something. I voted or Team Curry because its way better (IMO). Aside from KD team Davis' best players all need the ball. Lets be honest, if you have Giannis, Harden, Westbrook, & Lillard that is 4 spots for essentially 1 player. Same with PG13 and Butler, they are basically the same (not that you don't want them, but they are just a worse version of Kawhi anyways). The only weakness Team Curry has is defense against AD and Durant (however any team without AD and durant will have that weakness, and at least Kawhai is the best Durant check there is). That team also has too many point guards (who needs CP3 and Kyrie if you have Steph and Lebron? come on people, learn the NBA). Replace Paul with Oladipo and Jokic with Embiid and its a smokeshow. There aren't 2 easy replacements for the other team to make it so (although Oladipo should replace one of the PGs for sure).
