The worst of United teams were -crappy-. And I am sure SAF would still be able to win leagues with those teams in today's age. Your point would be valid if SAF had coached only for a few years. To have done it for decades makes him GOAT.

For me the variety thing is over rated. If your point is that the nature of the challenges is different that's something SAF has done aswell within the PL itself considering the span of time he was there.
He constantly reinvented the way his teams played aswell, revamped / rebuilt teams time and time again and still stayed relevant. Sure the PL has always had the kick and rush second ball culture but even within that the nature of the game has drastically changed over the last couple decades.
Infact I would even go as far as to suggest that staying at the same team for so long and being as successful as that is harder than doing what these other managers have done.
After all the only other example of similar longevity is a relative abysmal failure.
Leaving for fresh starts to new teams is relatively easy, you get a honeymoon, fresh squads new people willing and eager for fresh ideas. The fact that managers going around changing clubs is the norm is a testament to this. Never stay somewhere too long to fail or leave the moment you start to fail right?
After all Mou's ideal team to stay at would have been Chelsea, yet he couldnt stay. Why? Because he didnt produce results or rather he had a spell where the results were to poor. Whether that is his fault or not is debatable but is also besides the point. SAF never had such a spell.
SAF was supported unconditionally because he kept winning. IF he didnt keep winning he was probably proud enough to just leave himself if he felt he saw he wasnt doing it anymore.
He made plenty of mistakes, thats normal and he probably at some point had more room to make mistakes then others but at the end of the day he kept winning and never really fell below what 3rd?
I have no love for SAF and certainly not United, but I cannot think of a better manager then him.+ Show Spoiler +Bit of a digression but Its sort of the way i feel about Federer. I am not a fan, but I cant sit here and say hes not the GOAT of his sport either.

Adrian Durham is a joke too though, hes your typical radio talk show baiter that tries to say shit to rile fans up, create some minor controversy in whatever "way to much time nothing to do in life" niche that pays attention to him (so Brits on their way to work or too much idle time)

Both Modric and Kroos on the bench, I think PSG has a decent shot at a 2-0 or so. Still requires a top notch performance of course.

Any chance the smoke is ever going to clear from the stadium?

This Madrid team is triggering me so hard.
For start, its a team that he has never played before in this formation, these players. Add in its away from home vs a top champions league contender in a knock out game! In truth this 4-4-2 is more a 4-2-4 as Casemiro and Kovavic will run more than rkoos and modric no doubt but Asensio and Vasquez aint gonna track back to the required levels. The main point though as i say is he has never played this formation with these players with success before and he does it away from home in Paris where this same PSG side (wothout Neymar) beat Barca 4-0 lol
What on earth!
Also fuck Benzema please XD

This game is going to be who can do the most realistic dive... isn't it?

This game is just an open air acting class.
Good thing is thought the big loser, win or lose, is Neymar.

If zidane pulls this off he will be a genius. If he fails he is jobless

Genius for what? First game was more of a 1-1 than a 3-1, and controlling tonight's game against this toothless Paris isn't exactly hard for them.
|
man I dont know about all that but that Ronaldo hangtime is fucking beast..

Hes going to advance resting 3 starting eleven players and built up confidence for his squad players. Crazy as it was, its a huge gain for the later stages of CL. And he did it while having huge, huge pressure on his job.
|
He's not resting them, the only hard choice is Bale. He is managing a 3-1, he doesn't have to risk his players health as if he had to win 2-0. Paris is weak on the wings, this 4-4-2 makes more sense, nothing genius about that. If anything, he failed to see that in the first game until he made his 'genius' subs.

Veratti's reaction was dumb, but that was a foul. He got kicked pretty hard and even tried to stay up. Then people complain when players go down to easy. This tie was done anyway, but now I can turn it off lel.

Mbappe is the next Pogba, great business for Monaco if PSG buys him.
|
Oh man, this PSG needs to change 2 things: buy 2 real wing backs because this is just awful seeing Alves aging like that (lets not talk about the left side); and sign a coach with a spine. Emery is a great tactician but he's choking every time there's a big game and the team looks like him.

However they still are so incredibly mediocre it is almost amazing.

The only way Cavani scores against real quality defenses :p
