I think ignoring doping sets a sad and dangerous precedent for athletes' health, besides. to add to this... Pro Wrestling takes a hands-off attitude towards steroids and HGH. As a result, wrestlers routinely drop day before age 45. Ravishing Rick Rude weighed 160 lbs at age 21. At age 25 he was 240 lbs of solid muscle and zero body fat. The problem is that HGH can also make your heart muscle grow in size while the heart valves remain the same size. Its one thing for a 6'5" 240 lb guy to go on steroids and gain 30 lbs. Its totally different for a guy like Eddie Guerrero or Rick Rude to start at 160 and go on HGH and Steroids and get themselves up to 240 lbs. Both never saw their 41st birthday. Rick Rude died at age 40 when his Aorta broke away from his heart and he died instantly; over 3 litres of blood was in his chest at the time of his death, if we just ignore doping/HGH/steroids then human modifications will continue to the stage where the participants barely resemble a human animal. this "girl" went to a school near me. when she was 17 she looked like your average every day hot girl in good physical condition; similar to what Ronda Rousey looks like now. as a 110 metre hurdler at 27 she looks like she could be one of the X-Men. i mean.. is this actually a woman? imagine what this thing would look like if there was no testing for HGH or steroids. imagine.. it isn't hard to do.... ![]() ![]()

Lets ask Gina Carano and Ronda Rousey. Similar to Cris Cyborg Santos, Priscilla Lopes does not pass the eye test. As far as "genetic disorders" go .. every athlete getting caught by USADA has tainted supplements, spiked skin cream, and Ben Johnson's theory is that Carl Lewis put stanozolol in his water. Ben Johnson took the "i'm a victim" stance. Nice PR move. i guess we can add "genetic disorder" to the list of bogus excuses which only try to muddy the waters amongst a litany of positive tests. Incidentally, Chad Mendes is the latest to get the USADA 2 year ban and his skin cream excuse is really solid PR with the standard "i'm a victim here" stance. The excuse has zero basis in real science. Bye Chad, see ya in 2 years. The "i'm a victim" stance is probably Priscilla's best possible PR move.

I had predicted 4 to 6 medals (4y ago) in Judo but it seemed like the work wasn't put in the federation to achieve that ![]() PS: And once again in Team Sprint, GB does nothing during 4 years and break the OR in the series during the olympics. *sigh*

Men's indoor volleyball team is not at their best and they have a history of choking during finals. Women's team is good and the girls are either overachievers or underrated, because they always surprise. Beach volleyball is weird, we tend to do really well until we implode. It looks like the men's soccer team, despite their last result, will not get gold, and considering the players we have that is tragedy. Sarah Menezes and Felipe Kitadai disappointed in Judo. Our swimmers are not doing well - not that they should be winning medals left and right, but they're not even beating their personal bests. So yeah, it could improve but I don't have much hope. Edit: some Brazilian institute estimated that we'd win 9 golds, but most of the competitions have not finished so IDK. Maybe I'm just bummed out from the poor perfomances in Judo and Swimming. Also the fact that our best hopes are for a mere 10th place and we were supposed to be an emerging regional power 5 years ago.

The local fans really love their booing. Guess we are not alone in noticing.

The Hope Solo thing does sound completely overblown. It seemed that she said what she said in jest. The crowd's reaction seemed more like good natured ribbing rather than any angry booing. She is a little crazy, and maybe that's downplaying it, so she should be used to boos by now. Temer does deserve to be booed and no spirit of the Olympics thing can tamp that down.
