It's actually fun to cheer for detroit because they were such a depressing team before the Josh Smith cut.

"Changing the culture" actually seems to work judging by this year and Rudy last year and I wonder if it'll work for a team as bad as the Knicks too.

They would take the playoffs every time with SVG there. Detroit has missed the playoffs 5 seasons in a row; SVG made "changing the culture" his first priority when he got there. Players are a lot happier when they're playing for something and the change in players like Jennings and Monroe seems to be validating that strategy.

Before the Great JSmoove Emancipation of '14, Monroe was 90% leaving and Jennings looked miserable. This last game, Monroe just went 27/18/6 with a block and Jennings has been shooting above 50 percent since the trade.

the culture change is definitely real but there are some really nice players at the high lottery slot. nba will probably give knicks the first pick for towns at least that's my hope

Smith is like an inverse superstar. The value he brings by not being there is literally equivalent to if you had moved a top 10 player onto their roster.

Simmon's BS Report with Zach Lowe yesterday did a good job summarizing the season and outlook so far I thought ( heard it this morning).

I am really liking the Bulls chances of winning it too (barring an injury) like they do.

I dunno the bulls are looking pretty bad recently and it may be time to admit that Derrik Rose aint what he used to was. Hes shooting 25% over the current ugly streak for the bulls.

I know it's not the sport of this thread but that podcast had him and JackO shitting on the baseball HOF which I am all for and find hilarious as well.

Listened to that part and it was hilarious. Didn't agree with all of it, but it was really funny in places.

Just started the Zach Lowe one. Hope to avoid the staple of BS Reports featuring Lowe: Simmons goes off on one his hunch tangents and Lowe can't outright tell him he's wrong statistically because he's employed by the guy.

Don't get me wrong, I love Simmons, but he can turn into that crazy friend we all have and Lowe's word on the NBA is the closest thing we have to law.
