Can any Washington fans explain the Cousins hype? Shellbot?
I'd go Maclin. Crabtree is on the road with Peterson hounding him. I was fanboying Cousins since he was in college because I saw him play live in the Outback Bowl vs UGA and I was a Georgia Tech student at the time so I was obviously cheering for MSU. Only time I got to see UGA lose live since we lost every year I was in school. He just happened to go to the NFL team I root for as well. I think everyone else cheers for him because a lot of people gave up on RG3. I don't think they really expect him to become some great QB or anything. He's played 2 solid games in his career against Jacksonville last week and Cleveland his rookie year. the rest of his starts were pretty shaky. every year it's just been a growing number of people asking for him to take RG3's spot because they know he'll never make it through a season so we should move on to plan b wait if you go/went to GT do you support the falcons too? I supported them a little because I lived in Georgia for 14 years but my whole family is from Maryland so the Redskins are my main team. I live in Northwest Ohio now

Also, are the Steelers supposed to be contenders for anything / have they looked good so far? I don't think I've seen them at all so far.
I love it. Now that I live on the east coast the 1/430 starts feel very unnatural compared to the 12/330 starts when I was in the Midwest. Particularly a 1:00 start seems to kill both my morning and my evening.

I'm at TopGolf Alpharetta right now and Julio Jones and Roddy White are golfing in the lane right next to me. Pretty sweet!

I am actually convinced that Goodell only has his job still because of what he knows. And not related just to Ray Rice. He probably knows something crazy like that Robert Kraft helped Aaron Hernandez dispose of a body, or that Dan Rooney keeps baby seals in his basement and clubs them to death for sport.
That is the only plausible reason to keep him, because despite what Peter King, etc will tell you, Goodell has not "Made the owners tons of money", a drunk baboon could make the NFL 99.8% of what they make currently. Just look at the revenues for all our professional sports. Either we are living in the age of the 4 greatest commissioners in the history of their sports (highly unlikely), or there are just some systemic things that are lifting all boats (ala the recent increase in tuition at almost every college in America).

The other thing the graph shows is that all the Goodell-era growth was accompanied by all the other pro leagues growing at the same or greater rates! But they all grew, because its all free money right now.

I was strongly thinking of picking up the falcons defense on waivers this week, because tampa has been so god awful, but decided against it. considering I have matt ryan and julio jones, i could have 70 points with 3 players right now... oh well...

I wouldn't regret not doing that one. The Falcons looked awful to this point, albeit against fairly talented offenses. Add Indy if you're looking for the cupcake matchup of the week.

I'm gonna go with Baltimore's defense this week, they're still talented, though not as dominant as their glory days. I think they'll get a turnover or two on Hoyer and put up a decent stat line. Fantasy defenses are hard to figure out though.
Also, with Mark Ingram and Ryan Mathews hurt, I have the options of Andre Ellington or Terrance West at RB2 this week. neither have great matchups. I'm thinking of going with Ellington since he'll get plenty of pass targets, but I'm not sure.
|
I'd go with Ellington. He practiced yesterday and seems to be feeling better. Although they have SF, I'd bet with the ability and the fact that they have Drew Stanton captaining the ship.
|
It's also Ellington vs a Niners D without Bowman, Smith, and an injured and inexperienced secondary. He's definitely a better player than West, and his situation isn't an unfavorable as it seems.
On that note, I need to pick a flex player this week: Gates, Miller, Ellington, or Welker. I'm of half the mind to play Welker over Cruz in my WR slot because of how shit Cruz has been thus far...
|
I'd play Miller and Welker. I'd be afraid to play Cruz until he's shown that he's not going to be throwing his hands up in the air during games.
|
I like Ellington and Miller. I like to see a player give me something after being out awhile, but I wouldn't be shocked at all if Welker had a 14-15point game. However, if you are choosing between Cruz and Welker it's definitely Welker.
|
Tough choice for my Flex this week:
Zac Stacey, Lamar Miller. Joique Bell, Wes Welker, Michael Crabtree
I'm fairly sure I'll go RB, just don't know which.
|
Stacy
Edit: those are pretty solid options for your flex spot, who are your other starters? Also are you the guy in lk the 6 or 8 team league?
|
10 teams.
I'll just list my whole team because I'm pretty stoked about it: QB: Cutler RB1: Shady McCoy RB2: Giovanni Bernard WR1: Jordy Nelson WR2: Piere Garcon FLEX: (open, see above) D: Texans for week 3 K: Blaire Walsh
Bench: Zac Stacey, Lamar Miller. Joique Bell, Wes Welker, Michael Crabtree, RG3, Jake Locker, Jared Cook
I might sit Garcon and play Welker instead, but for some reason I think Cousins will get it done.
|
I really like Bell this week. Dunno if he's your best option, but I like him a ton.
I think I'd play Welker this week over Garçon.
Furthermore, you have no reason to own three QBs.
|
I picked Locker up for week 2 because I didn't think Cutler would play well (was looking smart until that unreal second half) and RG3 wasn't looking good. Then RG3 went down, I'll probably drop RG3 for someone depending on what his injury report looks like after the week end.
I've got no needs at this point, so I can afford to have one useless bench player.
Might try a trade for Stafford, Newton or Rivers (all on the same team).
And Welker is going up against Seattle (in seattle) this week, after they lost. It's going to be a bloody massacre.
|
So in my other league, I just did a trade: Percy Harvin and Darren Sproles for Jamaal Charles. When the trade was proposed, it looked like Charles would be out for at least 6-8 weeks. But now he some how made a magical return from a high ankle sprain, I'm not sure how I feel about it.
