Aldo kind of wearing himself out this 3rd round for little effect. TKZ needs to try opening it up this round I think.
edit: gg, but better plan from TKZ than I was expecting.

If he tried brawling in those early rounds, Aldo would've ****ed his **** up. He needed to try to wear Aldo out a bit. Unfortunate thing with his shoulder.

Although it was incredibly unfortunate for Jung's shoulder to pop out, it was only natural for Aldo to go after the shoulder. His aim is to finish the fight, and an injury caused by Aldo is enough to call Aldo the victor.

Of course, unless Jung finished the fight in the 4th/5th, I don't see how Jung would've won the decision.

My heart sank when I saw Zombie get finished like that...

Edit: Seriously forgot about the fact that Zombie had rotator cuff injuries on his shoulder... Hope that he'll be okay, and his career will be okay.

Having been through 6 shoulder dislocations and a reconstructive surgery, I'm not ashamed to admit that i felt moderately sick for a few seconds there. Having Jung lay on the ground crying in pain didn't help either

yeah he was massively outclassed in that fight anyway but sucks to go out like that, would've rather seen his face smashed in by a flying knee, much more memorable.

Honestly, while Aldo did outclass him for two rounds, I thought Jung was close on winning the third (50/50) and Aldo looked super tired going into the 4th and got clocked right in the mouth by Jung just a minute or so before the end of the fight. While Aldo was in a good position, Jung's conditioning looked much better and the whole trying to wrestle Jung in the third round really tired him out. While he was able to take Zombie down, he really did nothing on the ground, with Jung being the one trying to pull out submissions and getting in the punches.

Not saying KZ would have won if it went on, but it seemed like Jung was waiting to get into the later rounds, tire out Aldo, and then go in for the kill. The fight was opening up and if it wasn't for the shoulder, could have been a crazy last two rounds. Hopefully Zombie can come back rather quickly, take a title eliminator, and then face Aldo if he can win that in a rematch.

Reasonable strategy if he can survive the first few rounds without sustaining too much damage (which KZ was doing). Aldo was dominating that fight but still he was looking pretty tired going into the 4th, but even then you can't ever count Aldo out.

Couldn't believe my eyes when they made the tkz match vs aldo. Tkz is a journeyman, mild amusement fighter. There was no way he would ever beat Aldo...joke match.

If he was a joke fighter, Aldo would have knocked him out in the first round. Zombie held his own, can be argued won the third round, and was dictating the fight before his shoulder popped out. Aldo gassed himself out with all his trying to take Zombie to the ground, doing so, and then basically doing zilch when getting there.

Aldo also injured his leg during the first round, meaning he couldn't use leg strikes -- possibly his greatest weapon -- for the entire duration of the fight, but if Zombie was a journeyman type fighter, Aldo would have still wiped the floor with him. He did just fine against one of the best P4P fighters in the world. Most people expected a quick KO, but he was in a good position before the injury hit him.

Reasonable strategy if he can survive the first few rounds without sustaining too much damage (which KZ was doing). Aldo was dominating that fight but still he was looking pretty tired going into the 4th, but even then you can't ever count Aldo out.

I agree, there was still a big chance that Aldo would have just weathered the Zombie storm and either KO him or win by decision, but even Aldo's coaches were harping on just staying away from trying to tack Jung down due to how tired it was making him with no results. Every time Aldo took Jung down, it ended up with Zombie being the one going for submissions, getting punches in, and then eventually standing up.

Aldo's the better fighter, but with the leg kicks out of the equation, Zombie was a better conditioned fighter and was in a great position to go all out in the final ten minutes to either sway the judges or get a highlight reel KO.
