Personally, I'm super stoked for this card as a fellow countryman, Chan Sung Jung, will be fighting, not only as the main event, but for a title! Here's to the Korean Zombie for a shot as the first Asian UFC division title holder.

I'm guessing you're stating this as 100% full blooded Asian.
Cause Ben Henderson is 50% Asian.
---
I don't see Aldo losing to KZ. It will be interesting, but Aldo is a beast.
---
I don't see Davis beating Machida. He doesn't have that killer instinct in his striking.
Jon Jones was able to get off some nice strikes and elbows to disorient Machida... which lead to the dragon getting choked out.
I just don't see Davis pulling off the upset.
Aldo > KZ | Machida > Davis
Well, yeah, I know Bendo is half Korean, but when you look at Bendo, will he be seen as "the black guy" or "the half-Korean/half-black guy"? Not trying to bring race into a discussion, but people won't be acknowledging the fact that we already have an Asian champion UNTIL a full-blooded Asian fighter becomes champion.
And of course, technically, Sakuraba has already won a UFC tournament, so he's the first Asian UFC champion, so I specified "title holder" ;D
Imagine if the Korean Zombie wins though... Maybe in an upset like the Weidman fight. Would people go nuts? Would people give off excuses as to why Aldo lost? Would folks start hating on the Korean Zombie for toppling a pound-for-pound best?
I love Aldo, but I'll be rooting for Jung through thick and thin. Unless Jung decides to do something bad, like cheat. Then that's not good.

I'm rooting for Jung too, but its hard to imagine a scenario where he beats Aldo.
I feel nervous for TKZ. Not getting KO'd doesn't mean you aren't taking serious damage. TKZ has had too many brutal fights. Sure, in his Leonard Garcia fights, most fighters would've crumbled under that punishment. It's good to have heart. It's also a huge health liability, especially when it comes to brain trauma.
He's entertaining, sure, but no one can take that many punches to the head without ramifications down the road. Watch his fights, the dude doesn't protect himself. He throws his punches without putting his head down at all.
And now, he's going against the best striker he's ever fought. TKZ can not keep going like this. I just want to see the guy start defending himself, or his career is going to one day look like a tragedy.
Aldo's fight will be interesting, but I'm really looking forward machida's fight. I hope dave's gets so beaten that dana white has no way to ignore machida's existence anymore ... Expecting round2 ko's for both aldo and machida ...
Well, Machida is probably just on the bitter end of Dana White because he declined the UFC 151 fight with Jon Jones...
Anyways, I hope The Korean Zombie has some nice takedowns from his training with Alpha Male, and maybe some nice Judo training from training at the Korean Top Team... I'd imagine unless Aldo does a Silva, Korean Zombie's best bet is on the ground.
Nice, Lineker fighting... Loved the way he fought since he fought Gaudinot. Actual, legit power puncher in the flyweight division, and brawl-like style.
If Stann's commentary wasn't totally biased, I'd say Davis is actually getting the decent side of the stand-up... This is one scenario where I hope if it goes to a decision and the third round goes the same way as the first and second, the viewers won't be shocked at the decision because of Stann talking about Machida's better stand-up because it's naturally better than Davis.
Hmm, wouldn't be surprised if Davis took it, but Machida might win based off of takedown defense and his actual hard hits. But if Davis wins, it'd be off of activity.
Yeah, considering it was 29-28, the judges definitely gave Davis the first two rounds because of the takedowns, despite Machida's significant strikes. You could even tell Davis won because of the slight hesitation from Bruce Buffer when announcing the winner >.>
Hmm, I hope Machida really doesn't think the UFC will change the ruling on the fact that the judges scored Davis winning... I wouldn't be surprised if Machida gets a title shot after this fight though, not because it's the whole "the UFC gives out title shots for losing", but because Dana White thinks Machida won...

wrestling gives you like a 70/30 advantage.
personally i think position changes shouldn't be counted as "points" at all.
if someone is full mounted on someone else, they shouldn't get points on that position, they should get points from the ass whipping they achieve while controlling that position.
theres a lot of times when the person on bottom is much more active and loses. it shouldn't happen.

I really doubt it, out of the big fighters machida is the one who sells the less ppvs
Anyone else feel like Zombie is fighting a bit scared? edit: it kind of reminds me of okami/silva...where okami seemed like he just didn't want to be there :\
Aldo kind of wearing himself out this 3rd round for little effect. TKZ needs to try opening it up this round I think. edit: gg, but better plan from TKZ than I was expecting.
If he tried brawling in those early rounds, Aldo would've ****ed his **** up. He needed to try to wear Aldo out a bit. Unfortunate thing with his shoulder.
Although it was incredibly unfortunate for Jung's shoulder to pop out, it was only natural for Aldo to go after the shoulder. His aim is to finish the fight, and an injury caused by Aldo is enough to call Aldo the victor.
Of course, unless Jung finished the fight in the 4th/5th, I don't see how Jung would've won the decision.
My heart sank when I saw Zombie get finished like that...
Edit: Seriously forgot about the fact that Zombie had rotator cuff injuries on his shoulder... Hope that he'll be okay, and his career will be okay.
Having been through 6 shoulder dislocations and a reconstructive surgery, I'm not ashamed to admit that i felt moderately sick for a few seconds there. Having Jung lay on the ground crying in pain didn't help either
yeah he was massively outclassed in that fight anyway but sucks to go out like that, would've rather seen his face smashed in by a flying knee, much more memorable.

ala Kim Dong Hyun (Carlos Condit flying knee haha)

Technically he went out ala Kim Dong Hyun(vs Maia)
Honestly, while Aldo did outclass him for two rounds, I thought Jung was close on winning the third (50/50) and Aldo looked super tired going into the 4th and got clocked right in the mouth by Jung just a minute or so before the end of the fight. While Aldo was in a good position, Jung's conditioning looked much better and the whole trying to wrestle Jung in the third round really tired him out. While he was able to take Zombie down, he really did nothing on the ground, with Jung being the one trying to pull out submissions and getting in the punches.
Not saying KZ would have won if it went on, but it seemed like Jung was waiting to get into the later rounds, tire out Aldo, and then go in for the kill. The fight was opening up and if it wasn't for the shoulder, could have been a crazy last two rounds. Hopefully Zombie can come back rather quickly, take a title eliminator, and then face Aldo if he can win that in a rematch.

Reasonable strategy if he can survive the first few rounds without sustaining too much damage (which KZ was doing). Aldo was dominating that fight but still he was looking pretty tired going into the 4th, but even then you can't ever count Aldo out.
Couldn't believe my eyes when they made the tkz match vs aldo. Tkz is a journeyman, mild amusement fighter. There was no way he would ever beat Aldo...joke match.

If he was a joke fighter, Aldo would have knocked him out in the first round. Zombie held his own, can be argued won the third round, and was dictating the fight before his shoulder popped out. Aldo gassed himself out with all his trying to take Zombie to the ground, doing so, and then basically doing zilch when getting there.
Aldo also injured his leg during the first round, meaning he couldn't use leg strikes -- possibly his greatest weapon -- for the entire duration of the fight, but if Zombie was a journeyman type fighter, Aldo would have still wiped the floor with him. He did just fine against one of the best P4P fighters in the world. Most people expected a quick KO, but he was in a good position before the injury hit him.

I agree, there was still a big chance that Aldo would have just weathered the Zombie storm and either KO him or win by decision, but even Aldo's coaches were harping on just staying away from trying to tack Jung down due to how tired it was making him with no results. Every time Aldo took Jung down, it ended up with Zombie being the one going for submissions, getting punches in, and then eventually standing up.
Aldo's the better fighter, but with the leg kicks out of the equation, Zombie was a better conditioned fighter and was in a great position to go all out in the final ten minutes to either sway the judges or get a highlight reel KO.
What a gross fight. That foot and that shoulder had me squirming. I don't think Aldo was going to get tired enough to lose the fight though...KZ needed a better pace and a lot more movement in the first 3 rounds :\ edit: I also felt that Aldo should have capitalized on KZ in the first 2 rounds. I think Aldo could have finished him.

which is why you write for sc2 and not mma, hit poor foot was a club. aldo was grappling and waiting for zombie to throw something significant to counter due to his injury.

have you ever broken your foot? I couldn't walk or anything simple on it afterward. what he did on that foot was legendary. almost urijah faber status.
