Till some clasico I think last year they had a span over sth like 6 or 7 years where they had more possesion every half in every game. I think this is some of the most amazing statistics ever in football. Bayern were in 3 of the last 4 CL finals and they look even stronger this year. Olympiacos I dont know. I just think that the greece league is just not as comp. Sure they can upset some teams at home, but they are not on par with the other teams on the list. Ajax... I'm talking about the games in this years group.

Also that world ranking is a bit bad huh lol. I wouldn't even put Chelsea top 5 at this moment in time It's like that website has no idea what they are doing. Atletico are good yes, but they have NOT been tested, had a woefully easy Champions League group, have not beaten any big team other than Real Madrid who had ALOT of injuries that game right? They play Barca this weekend, if they give them a good test then maybe they are worthy of a top 10 ranking in the world, but at this moment in time no where near. I would like some stats that show other wise. Don't forget they beat Chelsea in the Super Cup beginning of 2012 to then go on and fall out of Europa League at the RO32 or something? To then finish top 3 in La Liga and claim a Champions league place. They also won a Copa Del Rey in a very one sided game vs Real where i think Courtois performed like a man possessed and the bar saved them from Ronaldo xD I do concede they play very well and are drilled so very well under Simeone but to say they should be considered top 10 in the world is a big statement let alone top 5. As far as i understand they take only pure results into account which is somehow correct but obviusly not a "power ranking". The top 5 or something are not the thing but i think nobody would rate FC Basel, Atlético Mineiro, Benfica or Viktoria Plzeň higher that Arsenal, ManC/U or AS Rom. I take this personally! First how can you put Benfica in the same group as teams as Basel, Atletico Mineiro or Viktoria Plzen? And second, Benfica is better than Roma. And results prove it. Only Taking into account Champions League and Europa League, Benfica and Porto, and i think this is common knowledge, are top Tier2 European teams. They are only bested maybe by the 10 best teams in Europe. Although this year's champions league showed otherwise I don't know how, after the last years, people can still undervalue Benfica and Porto. Tier 1: Bayern Munih ,Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Atlético Madrid Tier 1.5: Paris Saint Germain, Juventus , Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund Tier 2: Napoli, Ajax, Porto, Benfica, Milan, Zenit, Basel, Galatasaray, Olympiacos, Schalke 04 , Shakhtar Donetsk, Bayer Leverkusen and a few more. imo Basel is real deal. atletico would fit perfectly into tier 1.5 , other than that i can agree with it What makes Arsenal more deserving of tier 1 than Atletico? a scarier roster and I personally would guess that they would win 8/10 games agaist atletico. also they were 1st in PL for some weeks which is not too shabby, while atletico mostly played vs pretty bad teams. I think putting them in a group with psg juve etc still overrates them slightly. How is Arsenal's league form relevant to a CL/EL-only ranking? Again, Atletico won the Europa League and UEFA Supercup in the last 18 months. I think beating Bayern at their own ground, and qualifying from the "group of death" is pretty elite. Qualifying from the group of death was extremely impressive, but everyone knows that Bayern switched off in the second leg last season (just as they did against Agueroless Man City last month). Still, I don't understand how that is more of a claim than actually winning trophies. I believe Arsenal belong in tier 1 but my point was that Atletico have a very strong claim to be there as well. If anything, Man City should be in tier 1.5 having only reached the CL knockout stage once, with no Europa success.
Yeah because winning the Europa League and a friendly is really worth shouting about. Coming from a Chelsea who actually won the Europa shit which yes is a trophy but you get it by playing weak shit teams. Last year was like the first time in years that two people from the champions league actually made it through to the final, thats how much they give a crap about that competition. Also saying Atletico won it then the super cup is very true, but then you fail to say they went out in like the RO32 or the group stage or something that same year to minnows of Europe. Again proving teams don't care about that competition. They won the Super Cup vs a fucked up Chelsea side thanks to op Falcaooooo. Right now they are a good solid team who have not been challenged yet, just a 1-0 win over Real Madrid, they play Barca this week so we will see how well they fare, personally i see them as a solid team again like a Liverpool, can compete but still have 0 squad depth to ever compete with a Bayern Barca Real Madrid City Chelsea.

I was aware of Fergie's record but the team he took over was awful and the infrastructure now is vastly different. A year without CL could spell disaster for the club's finances. The Glazers takeover was a huge gamble that relied on success year after year.

I think De Bruyne is overhyped. He is good and all but not worth 22 Million €.

De Bruyne is amazing and Chelsea will eventually realize what a gem they've given away. Still, £18 million?! That's a ludicrous amount for a player that is just incredibly talented, but not on world class level just yet.

I don't think the Morata to Arsenal thing is happening:

Yeah he came on vs Sweden in Sweden and looked fine, didn't get long enough though. Sporting top of the league though so im guessing he is doing well.

Don't know if you happened to catch it but ITV did a cool program the other day where Roy Keane and Patrick Viera sat down to discuss their rivalry and bury the hatchet (which they kind of did). They were asked to describe SAF and Wenger. Roy Keane's first word was 'ruthless' of course said in his irish accent i.e. 'Rootless'. Patrick said 'Loyal'. Wenger backing Rosicky is a classic example. He's a good guy I reckon.

I always thought you can take the bbc serious. But this one at Nani made me laugh:
Nani: I'm surprised he got a new five-year contract. He has not scored or created a goal in eight league games this season. He's just too inconsistent and should go.
Did you know? Only five players (Wayne Rooney, Cesc Fabregas, Ashley Young, Robin van Persie and Steven Gerrard) have produced more assists than Nani since he moved to the Premier League in 2007 (43).

To be fair Robbie Savage isn't the brightest of buttons. He talks a good game but he is one of those ones who jumps on any stat he is given and sides with it.
Nani is a "good" player at times but he is also a bad player a lot of the times. Same with Ashley Young, i don't think of many people in the world who can deliver a set piece as well as he can, so fast and deadly. However he also dives alot and doesn't work back as well as he does going forward. Unlike Valencia who is fucking shite at most things, but he runs around really fast for 90minutes and can make a tackle or two defensively lol.

I've been hearing sick things about this player, but why hasn't he made more caps for Portugal? Short answer: he's only 21.
Long answer: Sporting have been a train wreck until collapsing financially last year. After investing in a lot of foreign players, they had to sell practically all of them and start playing with home-grown players. Having perhaps one of the top 3 academies in the world, it turned out that most of these players were actually pretty good. William Carvalho at 21 turned out to be one of the stars in the Portuguese league this year after coming back from loan in Cercle Brugge last year.
Portuguese news is claiming Rodrigo could be on the way to Zenith St. Petersburg for... 35 Million Euros.
