Behold the #25 home shirt of FC Artmedia Bratislava! + Show Spoiler +I just cannot get the first two pictures to face the right direction :S I did some research and found that this club now goes by the name FC Petržalka 1898 and plays in the Slovak 3. Liga in a 1,500 seater stadium. The shirt is from sometime between 2004-2007, a period in which they actually won a CL group game vs Porto 3-2 coming back from 0-2 down! They finished the group with a record of 1-3-2, losing twice to Inter and drawing twice with Rangers. I sure hope it's real haha since there probably aren't too many of these in Canada (or outside of Slovakia for that matter).
Post it on Reddit for the mad karma, yo.
Looking at the 2005/06 UCL on UEFA.com, the number 25 shirt was worn by Ján Kozák. He made 129 appearances for the club, scoring 42 goals. He also made 25 appearances for Slovakia, and played in each of the nation's matches in the 2010 World Cup.
Edit: Speaking of Slovakia, Napoli's Marek Hamsik will not be fit to play in the big CL clash against Dortmund tomorrow D:

Played for West Brom too all be it only 6 appearances still would of been a few premier league touches in there xD

Hahaha, Artmedia Petrzalka!
I remember when Celtic went to Bratislava and lost 0-5. I opened the newspaper and was like what... the...
In the Glasgow rematch, Celtic actually won 4-0, but it wasn't enough lol. Funny, but it's sad, considering that Slovakia has 10 millions of citizens and I come from the country with 40 million people and no team in CL for eighteen years straight T_T

He barely played for a team that got relegated. (I'm a West Brom fan, and that was a disappointing season after the excitement of surviving on the last day the previous season.)
Also, Long really should have started more matches. He is a great striker (by West Brom standards). Watching Lukaku last season was brilliant too.

WHAT A GOAL BY WESTWOOD! Villa have completed the comeback! 2-2

Roma not winning games anymore. On the other hand, they're still not losing either.
We need Totti back in action.

If true, it’s a logical move by Beckham. Sun Life Stadium, even as a temporary home, offers the best location, facilities and easy access for soccer fans throughout South Florida compared to Marlins Park (which doesn’t possess a conducive experience for watching soccer games in a stadium designed for baseball) and FIU Stadium (which is located too far for soccer fans from Broward and Palm Beach Counties). Source 75,000??? For an MLS team? Miami's NFL team seats that amount, and they don't sell out every game. I don't see how they will support that. maybe a religion with hq in Clearwater, which is also in Florida, has something to do with it, but well...

Only right
Btw Ronaldo really is pretty close to Messi statistically, quite amazing really. Still the problem with Ronaldo is the lack of trophies in comparison to Messi in the same period. Really feel that the guy will not go down in history as a legend like Messi if he doesn't at least win a champions league title with Madrid.
|
It's very unfortunate for cristiano to be playing in the same era with messi. As ysellian said if he doesn't get a big trophy people will forget him, kinda like they forgot rivaldo in favor of zidane.
|
Didn't Ronaldo won a CL?
What big trophy are you talking about :p
|
Rivaldo got 2 world cups and 1 more final and I've never seen anyone here saying what a legend he was, it's only zidane and ronaldo. People only remember the best unfortunately.

Pretty epic game in Dortmund vs Napoli. Mkhitaryan is almost unstoppable today, nearly scored a goal after solo run through Italians' defenses. 60 seconds later, Higuain has one on one but hits Weidenfeller; another 60 seconds and Błaszczykowski scores for 2-0. I'm glad, considering that I hate the visitors for fouling and lousy play.
BTW, those CR7 stats... kinda make him a little better player than Messi, since he doesn't have a luxury of playing along Xavi and Iniesta, no? It's pretty intimidating to think so from the viewpoint of Barca fan.
Napoli's defense is such a joke; Aubameyang had to screw up one 100% chance, but he scored on 2nd.
|
It was the rise of messi that made them stand out that much though. Xavi wasn't considered the spanish equivalent of pirlo during the ronaldinho era was he? Also it's not like ozil, modric, xabi alonso and kaka are lousy with a ball at their feet, lol.
But for me it's not a matter of numbers, just watch 2 highlight vids of them side by side, there are things that only messi can do and that's why even if cristiano had better stats(which he doesn't) I'd still favor leo for the top spot.
*plus cristiano is a big choker but I'll wait to see him in the world cup as well to be fair.

I would add to the debate the assists:
Goal Assists in Liga and Champions since 2009. Messi: 70 CR7: 50
