I'm in awe how well Hazard played yesterday. It's almost as if FM2011 scouting data was a pure truth carved in stone.
Also, it's ironic how the things work. Last year, Bayern was ahead by 1 goal and sent out Van Buyten to aid the defense which ended up with Drogba equalizing. This time, Chelsea was ahead by 1 goal, sent out Terry, and Martinez equalized. I have no idea why managers choose the path to dig in even deeper in a situation when current defensive set-up works well enough.
PS. During his PK, Lukaku looked like a gorilla trying to pull off a Swan Lake; I feel sad for him, but he should know better that whenever in doubt before penalty, take a long inrun and strike powerfully instead of fucking around. That was anticlimactic.

Yeah sending out defenders works so rarely imo, I'll never understand why managers do that :/

That Eriksen trasnfer makes paying 30 million for Willian seem silly.

Did anyone else notice how, despite the fact that Lukaku positively hates being called the new Drogba (though he plays almost exactly the same), he went for the EXACT mirror version of Didier's penalty in the 2012 final? Short run up, with the left foot aiming low left of keeper. Didier = short run up, right foot aiming low right of keeper.
The guy is only 20 but I wonder if we have been shown a glimpse of who Lukaku is when things REALLY matter. Which is the most important of the 'unscoutable intangibles' that make up great players. I hope that when he is more in his comfort zone playing for Chelsea this will just become a memory that spurs him on to practice and train harder, rather than demotivate him horrifically.

They must have offered Eriksen some insane wages, considering which other clubs he's been linked to and turned down over the course of summer

In 2011 Hazard was elected best L1 player, after being twice the best youngster. He had already played ~100 L1 games, 20 european cups games, and had 20 international caps. It wasnt exactly hard to know he was good

This is how you stop the other team's counter-attack: + Show Spoiler + just lol, feel sorry for all those chairs

HUGE chance for Hull against City, but a poor finish from Aluko.
Danny Graham scores, but is offside. Good start from Hull.
Nice cross from Silva finds Lescott, who forces a save to a City corner.
After a scramble, Koren unleashes a powerful, low volley that nearly misses Hart's left post, but it looked like Hart would have saved it.
Figueroa clips Navas and earns himself a yellow card. A minute later, Fernandinho gets one as well.
Agüero dances his way through Hull, but can't find a finish past McGregor. He gets absolutely slammed by an opponent after the finish.
City have been absolutely poor going forward, and the defence has been very shaky. Not an impressive performance as they look to bounce back after falling to Cardiff last week. Hull will be the far happier team going into half time. McGregor might have an injury, though, which could be a worry.

It doesn't even matter this was offside... City's defense is just looking bad

Thanks based ferrose, I asked for this gif yesterday, xD.

How is man city 0-0 vs Hull, i haven't watched it and have just noticed it is 0-0?!

City have been shit. Hull have negated them all over the place, and Silva and Navas can't find the final pass.

Oh my god, how that team on paper looks so good. Pellegrini struggling to get used to English football? Or is it the players? They did this under Mancini too :S

Well, City's defense was pretty error prone to begin with, and losing Kompany really doesn't help with that.
