I don't know man. Ramires was that tiny bit faster and in the last moment both try to avoid the crash. sure it hurts it's okay to give yellow because it was dangerous but for a straight red i would expect götze to have full control over the ball.
I still hope we'll see the season that the first 15 matches end 7v7 because dives are given red. Maybe players would stop crying, trying to fool opponents, refs and fans.

To me it kind of looked like Ramires slipped on the ball and therefore accidentally stamps down on Goetze. Both players coming in with such pace is going to end up in a card for someone these days. My gut feeling at first was straight red, but now I think it should be at most yellow. Then again, you could argue that he came into the challenge showing studs, even though they're angled downwards. I'm torn.

whether a player got the ball is still relevant. if a player's eyes are fixed on a moving ball you cant straight up foul him for being careless/reckless whatever. we dont have 360 degree vision. on the other hand you cant tell a player not to challenge for the ball because you may be fouled for being reckless when you accidentally collide with another player.
