I dont know how Roberto Carlos is not here, IMO he revolutionaiced his possition Why no George Best on this list? The most naturally gifted footballer of all time. Pele named Best the world's greatest ever player.
"Maradona good; Pelé better; George Best."

No-one should take Pele serious though. Gifted player in the stone age yes, but everytime he says anything in the media about football I facepalm a little.

Dinamo Z and Partizan if i'm not mistaken have managed to qualify for CL, but they served in there as a trash cans more or less. Too bad there hasn't been any significant movement.
Surprised kinda also about Best and maybe Cruyff also.

At first glance this seemed like an unbelievably harsh perm. I wouldn't even expect a warning for such talk however he must be a PBU or have some sort of history.
I don't agree about Arsenal but I really think Liverpool will be bad for at least 3-4 years lol.

Like his predictions? Makes me laugh every time. Him and Maradona just have so little understanding of the game, it's hilarious.
Also about Arsenal: I believe their stadium debt is almost payed off now, which should free up a lot of resources. This graph tells it's own story: + Show Spoiler + Another point is that Arsenal may not have won anything in 8 years but they have survived this period surprisingly unscathed. Supporters and Sponsors haven't backed off and the team hasn't missed out on Champions league.

Players from the stone age were awesome. Look at Giuseppe Meazza, after being with women all night and drinking champagne he wakes up half an hour before kick-off drunk, runs all the way to the stadium and gets there 5 minutes before the match begins (still drunk/hangover), puts on his kit like nothing happened and goes on to score a hat-trick. What a boss. Not like the pansies that play these days could pull of the same thing.
EDIT: This has nothing to do with your post except for the stone age part lol

Haha, yeah Zeo. Remember the Chelsea old people like Chopper Harris man, that guy could drink! Such a funny time back in the day. It lasted until about the mid 90s in England as well. Merson Adams and Letissier all known drinkers/party goers.

You don't get a nickname like 'chopper' by being a pussy Just don't get the Roy Keane/Gattuso types anymore, people just don't try to run off a broken leg like Stuart 'Psycho' Pearce did. Is it a good thing? Who knows, maybe the game would have been more technical if it wasn't so rough back then

Indeed but then there were players who were still technically brilliant back then, like the Sócrates Best type players. Especially on the shit pitches they used to play on, it's just quite outstanding really when you think about it. However i wouldn't swap my era (90s onwards) for anything, i mean i have seen football evolution, from players being physical to players being technical. And German and English league still has that strong physical edge to its game which is why they are so good to watch.

wasn't he called chopper because he chopped people's legs off with his loltastically un-health-and-safety tackles xD

playing in a mediocre league with a team which is not even guaranteed to abide by FFP rules and be kicked out of Europe (according to FFP rules) thus just gaining a massive wage winning the French league title...even without them being booted out, i doubt they will ever be a force in Champions League.

True, but it is only his club (Napoli) that was stopping him from being able to talk to Chelsea/Man City/Real Madrid due to the transfer fee they wanted? So i guess he might not have a choice, not sure.

When I type 'Edinson Cavani' in my Google:
somenewsportal, 24 June - "Manchester United plans to outbid Chelsea and Real Madrid in race for Cavani." someotherportal, 03 July - "Chelsea placed 49.3 million fee for Cavani, player is one step away from The Blues." yetanotherportal, 05 July - "French and Italian media are convinced 60 million fee will take Cavani to PSG."
Just shows how much gossip bullshit is generated to heaten up the race and pump the fees for agents and players.
I wonder what kind of wages the guy can count on in Paris?
By the way, I still remember that in 1999, when Christian Vieri moved from Lazio to Inter for like 32 millions, Vatican newspaper 'L'Osservatore Romano' called that fee 'immoral' and 'insulting for the working men' - even though the guy was like #1 striker in Europe at that time. Looks like this summer is already full of heavy financial sins with devils giggling and anticipating more.

When a top player gets siphoned off to a league with sub par average standard (russia/france in this case have taken away some of the brightest talents), you can't help but be upset. We will get to see them in the champs but it so much less special than if they were in the good leagues.

Not sure we will, it depends how much this FFP is actually enforced from UEFA. It's this season it comes in right?
