We should be paying them what they’re worth and the players down the pecking order should not be earning as much. We’ve had this policy of equality across the wage bill and it doesn’t work. The "socialist wage structure" or whatever they call it, is indeed terrible, but I believe it's a thing of the past now. Those guys will be gone in a few years and if these first few days of the transfer window are any indication, Wenger is going to stop settling for average players.
Indeed the first signs seem good. It will be great to see Arsenal back as legitimate title contenders.

If anyone thinks it's all about merchandising and he didn't deserve it, whatever. I actually thought one had to be for Xavi. I think the only year you can really make an argument for someone else is 2010, for Wesley Sneijder.
Time kinda proved Messi was the right pick tho
It was that same year that Xavi deserved it IMO. He won the WCup with Spain iirc.

Barça has pretty much already accepted the fact that Thiago Alcántara is leaving to ManU. Grats for one of the greatest signs in the past years to them.
Also catalan newspaper saying they might trade Villa + 25M for Rooney. Holy crap we are bad at this. Meanwhile Madrid is gonna sell Higuaín to Juve for 27M. Higuain has signed for Arsenal dude xD 3 year contract I'm so excited :D

And yeh atleast Sneijder or someone from Spain should have gotten that one.

God damn. It's hard to resist but he is such a fucktard on the other hand. He would be so fucking good in Chelsea.

Has there been any internationally capped player who hops more teams than Nicolas Anelka? Now at West Brom.

Yeah, and Ivan Gazidis says that the club can become a super club like Bayern in the future. Kind of an exciting time to be an Arsenal supporter

But to be that level you NEED to win things, to keep sponsers happy and more money coming into the club. If you continue to fall at the final hurdle there is only a certain level you can get to, and it wont be Bayerns in term of financial power ;_:

Exiting time in general for English football. Arsenal, Chelsea, and both the Manchester teams will be looking at the title, while Spurs and Liverpool hope for a champions league spot. The two Welsh teams are interesting for me, I kinda feel like the time has come for a merger of all the British leagues. Scottish football is on life support at the moment even before Rangers fell into the 4th tier, it was kinda competitive with the English top tier till about the early 90's so I can see why it would be independent then, but now... and Northern Ireland is...well you know... I can give an example from my own league, the Yugoslavian first division was the fourth-fifth league in Europe, along with Germany and France. But split it all up... the national teams didn't suffer as much, not that I can say the same for the clubs

Aresenal and Liverpool have no chance to even get into the top4! they are terrible for years now!
