Dun dun duuuunnn...
Marciello, this year's European F3 Champion, sat down for the first time in a GP2 car and went to the Abu Dhabi GP2 test yesterday. And embarassed everyone.
Also nice to see what someone like Abt, who, during this year's regular season always had only used engines and demolished spare parts available, shows what he can do in a proper GP2 car.

That is pretty fucking amazing and at a real drivers track. Only 18 too, wow.

And Kimi is out for the final 2 races of the season, meaning there is now an open seat at Lotus, and Lotus could really do with a driver capable of scoring a lot of points, so it will be interesting to see who they go for given the tight deadline they have to get everything sorted.

Remember when Grosjean was busted last year, D'Ambrosio could only manage to beat Caterham and Marussia, finished P13. I'd still rate Valsecchi much higher than D'Ambrosio tho. And if the car is good, and the team and Romain help him to a good setup, then points are possible. Imho.

Massa+Bottas confirmed for Williams 2014.
Bye bye, Pastor, your crashes did cost us more money than your sponsors bring in.
|
What's the story behind Kimi not being in the last 2 races? He might well lose his 3rd place to Hamilton; and Lotus still might have, however slim, chance of getting 3rd place in constructors' cup too, isn't that worth something?

I dont think pastor will leave f1 he will probably move to sauber or lotus, they need his money.

Apparently Kimi is scheduled for back surgery this thursday, and thats the main reason for ending the season so early D: He can't do anything overly physical for 4 weeks after it so he's looking to be in shape for next season

I do like that now McLaren now have a driver called Kevin

He decided to be a giant penis and tell Lotus to go F themselves after bitching about his pay, and then it getting sorted.
He threatened not to race due to pay issues, which is fair enough, then claimed it was all fine. Then decided that actually he needed surgery and would miss the last 2 races, right after crashing out at the first corner of AD.
Lotus would have been better off if he had decided not to race for the last 3 races rather than last 2.
Kimi doesn't give the slightest crap about his finishing position in the championship, or about Lotus and their constructors championship position, since he's not going to be there next year. He made his giant fuss about not racing in the last races, then turned round and said "haha, I'm not racing anyway even if the pay thing is sorted out, I hope you enjoyed wasting your time".

Yeah, well played Kimi. Well played. lol
Massa in Williams. Hope for his sake they make a better car than the current bath tub they have. Also, still keen to see Di Riesta kicked.

Well williams have the merc engine next season (3 different engines in 3 seasons, cosworth, renault, mercedes?) it is tipped to be the best engine so they could be right up there next year.

http://sniffpetrol.com/2013/11/13/more-drivers-drop-out-of-last-two-races/
Following news that Kimi Raikkonen is to miss the last two races of the Formula 1 season due to ‘back problems’, several other drivers have revealed that they too will be sitting out the remainder of the year.
First to drop out were Ferrari drivers Fernando Alonso, who gave the excuse that his back was ‘still a bit hurty’, and Felipe Massa, who claimed that after signing for Williams he had accidentally ‘thrown away’ all his Ferrari overalls.
Not to be outdone, Lewis Hamilton announced he was missing the last two races on account of having ‘no one to look after the dog’ whilst team mate Nico Rosberg said he mistakenly thought Abu Dhabi was the last race of the year and had ‘booked a two week non-refundable holiday at Center Parcs’.
Other absentees will include Pastor Maldonado, who claimed his seat had got jammed too far toward after the team adjusted it ‘to let Massa have a go’ and Sergio Perez who will be unable to drive on account of ‘crying too much’.
Meanwhile, over at Red Bull Mark Webber will not complete the season because he ‘just can’t be fucking arsed’.
In total, 20 of the current 22 drivers have elected not to compete in the final two races. As a result, the only entries in this weekend’s US GP will be Sebastian Vettel, who will win as usual, and Marussia’s Max Chilton, who will somehow finish 19th.

Hekki did a pretty awesome job in quali!

Bit of a boring race because of the tyres, I hope they get rid of pirelli soon, looks like hulkenberg has been guaranteed a sauber seat for next year if he wants it.
|
Yeah the race was dreadful. In my own opinion F1 is headed towards a pretty bleak future for a couple of reasons;
1. The new cars for 2014 are slower and so expensive I feel like the bottom teams will almost be forming there own series like Le Mans. 2. The tyres are horrible and the whole concept behind them was totally idiotic and poorly thought through. 3. The new tracks F1 uses are total garbage, COTA is the perfect example. Sector 1, the only place to over take is turn 1, after the start/finish straight, the rest of the sector only puts distance and eliminates the chance for proper fighting and the only other place for over-taking is the DRS enabled long straight.... How is it that someone or a team of people designed a race track intentionally limiting the over taking to straights or the corners emidiatly following them... All that happens is they produce awful, dull races.
I know I'm not the only one that's getting more and more invested in other race series...
|
The F1 nowadays is boring. - No more waiting to see if an engine will last all race. - Pit stops too fast without refuel. And only one or two pit-stops each race. Less race strategies. - Less over take (at least in first positions).
Hopefuly something will change next year.
