My press felt infinitely better, I highly recommend it. Deadlift 1x3 60, 90, 105, 120, 140kg - I realized last week that I've been, stupidly, using my left hand as the overhand in my mixed grip. Switched it today and it felt a lot better. EZ-bar curls 3x8 48kg Shrugs from the rack 3x3 125kg - I'm gonna try these for my grip strength for a few weeks and see if it helps. That's actually a pretty good article, except that I don't follow (I will never disagree to someone who has more experience than my in weightlifting) the thumbless grip advice. It makes me feel unsafe. I'm already pressing my BW and I feel fine. <3.

If you haven't actually tried it before I'd highly suggest you give it a try with some of your warmups, you might be pleasantly surprised.

Its suicide grip on bench, but i dont think youre ever going to have a problem ditching an ohp. Juat kick your hips back and your arms forward and let it hit the ground. I read the same article a week or two back and it feels awesome in your press.

Hopefully I can get 2 plates soon but progressing further might require me gaining some weight. I'll prob maintain until the end of the summer and bulk through winter.

Insane how much your face changed do people even recognize you? during the last couple of months I have had my fair share of friends (which I hadn't met in 6 months or so), which just walked straight past me. It always guarantees hilarious conversations afterwards. I once just stalked them for 2 minutes on the train station until they realized what's up. Even more hilarious, more than once I looked at myself in a shop window, and did not recognize myself for a good couple of seconds. This last year has been really crazy.

I feel the "squeeze the biceps" hint is even more important though. I have to test this tomorrow, but my instant reaction was that I don't do that, and I can instantly realize the benefits just from reading the article. Maybe I did this last year too, my arms were so big, hard to not squeeze anything there, lol. I guess that is the stuff they mean when they are talking about leverages for powerlifting.

What does he mean by squeeze the biceps? No video or picture makes me a sad panda

This guy (Paul) also does a podcast called Chaos & Bang (with jamie lewis from chaos and pain) and if you read any of their stuff (either of them) or listen to that podcast, you'll quickly realize that they have very limited respect for rippetoe. It should still be on the front page. As far as I can tell, it's "keeping your elbows in" and flexing, so that you load (put tension on) the biceps at the bottom position of the lift. edit: it's on the second page, here is a link. http://www.lift-run-bang.com/2012/06/using-biceps-in-eccentric-portion-of.html
