i advise increasing weight a lot during session to get a stronger feel for biomechanics. for powerclean i didnt start to get a feel for it till i went above 40-50kg. also i think learning powerclean/clean will help snatch a lot (tho i dont snatch)
Attempted to CJ 120kg and the lockout was really tight but I felt too much of a stretch on my back leg and dropped it, it looked good on video but I felt like I was gonna injure something lol. I need to get comfortable with a lower split. I've been doing a lot of assistance work for the jerk, sets of 5 on the power jerk and jerk grip OHS with 10 second pause at the bottom, I feel like it's helping, dip feels a lot better just gotta work on that flexibility for the split now.
I think it's the best heavy jerk I've done even though I missed it lol
Squat Jerk feels so damn awkward to me... Any chance of getting a section on it in the OP or just some general advice here? I don't really know where to start with it and it feels like I'm going to die every time I try it XD
Haha it's not for everyone. Takes lots of mobility and overhead stability. I just try to get the bar up and behind me, really secure the lockout asap, and then ride it down.
So I'll have my fifth session at the weightlifting club today and aside from that I'm training at my friends shed gym, so I'm out of the old place.
I joined in the middle of a squat maxing cycle which has been cool. There's been a lot of focus on Snatch technique which has been very beneficial but I've not had a chance to do C+J with them yet.
Many of my problems are being ironed out (bending arms being the first big one, currently working on getting the full shrug in) but my main problem is with keeping my chest up during Cleans. Does anyone have any advice for that? My shoulders are curving forwards and it's messing everything else up.
I have some exercises to try to fix it but was wondering if anyone else had other suggestions.

For max squats today, I'm hoping to hit somewhere between 120kg and 130kg =D (BW is 60). Did 115 3x3 on Monday (new PB)

I've always been somewhat mobile (i usually attribute it to doing gymnastics at a young age) but I've massively improved it by doing mobility work pretty much every day over the last three years.

I wish I had done gymnastics when I was younger D:
Actually I wish I had played any sports when I was younger. Unfortunately, I just suck at sports and my parents never encourage (forced) me to play sports.
Hmm I don't think i'm being patient enough with my pull in the clean. Looks like I'm finishing my second pull a split second too early and not keeping the bar close enough by a smidge. I'll play around with it a bit today.

Edit: Hit 130 1RM. Tried 135kg, didn't happen.
Video of your clean? I would use blocks to focus on specific positions that you have trouble with.

I had one, but it was so bad, I need to get one that's closer to my normal technique. I should be able to get one this Saturday.
Damn good improvement over the last 2 months. Finally PR'd something, first time since summer last year (had a really long layoff because of football). Also first body weight snatch! Last time (and only other time) I snatched 100, I weighed like 102 .
Some snatch triples from last week. Missed a single at 120 then dropped and worked back up and ended up hitting 125x3 then smoking 130 and close miss at 140
