@Eshlow. I hate to bother you, but do you still have that study on why dietary fat isn't bad for you? My friend is saying cheese sucks, and I say to hell with that, it ain't that bad.
Rosa and I are both 6'3, and we squat fine. Decaf is almost that height, and he's a baller. The football and basketball teams at my university are made up of guys that make me feel small, and all of them squat - though I will note that they're carefully monitored by trainers and coaches, have very specifically planned routines, and are in great physical condition already, as they are working out/practicing for their respective teams year round. Still, I think you're going to need to be a bit bigger than 6'4 even for it to interfere with squatting.
To expand upon that, it doesn't matter how tall you are. Maybe when you take into account different body types. Like some people's body geometry makes them more predisposed to be great deadlifters, benchers. squatters or whatever. Has nothing to do with pure height and more to do with body geometry. In which case even people who are abnormally tall may still have relatively normal body geometries. So the movements for each lift still conform to some type of textbook formal standard.

Eh yeah, you are right. Should of explained it more clearly. I think for that guy I mentioned he would get a butt wink type deal, I'm not really sure. You could ask him yourself if you really wanted to, all I know is is that he gave squats his all for awhile even when they didn't work, switched over to Leg press and found it to work out much better for him. Just figured I'd throw it out there though, I think everybody should friggin squat :D
Edit: Before everybody says the dude is just lazy/whatever, he is currently dieting down to 8% BF which takes a reasonable amount of effort.

@Catch: Good that you feel your hams and glutes with the new stance. In the vid you can, hopefully, see that I prefer a quite narrow stance/girp. + Show Spoiler [vid] +
Work has been killing me and lack of sleep is showing. Decided just to do the main excercises and skip the accessories if they went well.
Front Squats: finished with 105kg x 3. Sloppy form though
A quite jacked dude next to me was working up to a squat max and first did a shallow, unstable, 180kg raw lift. Then he loaded up 200kg, went ATG with it, and got a nosebleed as a reward. After my shitty 150kg x 2 warmup I knew I was going to get my workset done.
Deadlift: 185kg x 5. - A nice PR. The last rep was a loooooong grinder but happy as hell I got it
edit: @Dudeman: Squats are so superior that no discussion is needed.
I don't know if that's you in the video, but please do be careful when deadlifting. You don't want to be hitching the weight. Just keep in mind that good technique will always move the bar better than force :-p.
I know I know There just was no way in hell I was going to miss that lift.

6'8. 207.5kg snatch. I dropped my excuses after seeing this .

Just searched the name; his top result on youtube is the 2006 arnold classic, where he "demonstrated" the c&j. Opening lift is something like 180 kilos and he does something between a powerclean and an upright row - I swear he didn't even feel that much weight. Steps up to 210, and then 230 kg, not even a big competition, still not seeming to make much effort.
I've always been amazed with the technique of the chinese lifters, but they're all in the smaller weight classes. DAMN, the pure strength in this guy is fantastic.
Yeah, Olympic lifting is a sport dominated by guys shorter in stature... us tall guys are pretty SOL in terms of breaking any world records, but I figure I don't have the genetics or steroids required to C&J 200+kg anyway.
I think there are three lifters in history to C&J three times their own bodyweight, and IIRC, all of them were in the 56kg class, and all of them under 5'0 tall. This is why I found Cholakov to be such an outstanding example; he's a giant in a sport dominated by smaller guys. It's like how a 5'2 guy in the NBA would draw attention.

One of my favorite lifters, zlatan vanev is 6' at 77kg. He was even at 70kg before the weight class switch. But usually if you are 6', you have to go to 94+
I was curious and tried to look up who clean and jerked three times their body weight and couldnt find anything.
btw I have the unbelievable bulgarian video if anyone wants to see it. I will make it private for our viewing only. If there is interest, where should I upload it privately.

I'm having those problems aswell. The Icelandic summer sun is pretty much up all day. Too hot for me is anything above 10°C lol...
Melantonin helps though.
I've tried, didn't help me

ff's summer bulk up quest Age: 20 || Height: 5'10" or 178cm || Weight: 165lbs Starting Date: 01/05/2011 || Goal Date: 01/09/2011 Weight goals -- 170lbs-175lbs (Looking to cut body % while gaining muscle mass) Training goals -- Lift More, Increase Cardio Stamina, Achieve Elusive X Frame Nutrition goals -- Stop eating junkfood, eat vegetables for once in my life Misc goals -- Look pimp for the new university year. Finally get over my skeleton skinny teenage days (already got a head start on that lol). Post before/after pics and get impressed reactions D:
Sup gents and ladies (as if lol). Been meaning to join the discussions in this thread for a while now after lurking, finally got around to it.
For all the knowledgable folk out there, a little question. How much cardio would you guys suggest I do if my main goal is to bulk up, but I'd also like to get a higher definition (especially in the core area)? Currently my cardio consists only of 2 high intensity ~2 hour games of basketball a week, and I'm not sure if that's enough or not, since I want to do enough to decrease body % but nto too much so that it hinders growth (if you catch what I mean lol)
