not the greatest format at all, you might end up with platnium players beating gold players over and over and stacking up points.. any concern to this?

They also say "no previous league rankings above diamond" does that mean I'm ineligible because I actually finished one season in Masters?

@TheUnderking apologies for the error in the rules. It will be Diamond League and above. Users need to have had a previous league ranking of diamond or above to participate. Apologies for any misunderstanding. @SlideSC2 We also are taking in all the feedback from the community. The only thing we want is to give you all a home for everyday competitions. Keep speaking your mind and let us know what we can do better. Best

same do we just challenge people or is there a day we have to meet or what? also since the link doesnt work i cant find the page TT.
edit: nvm link works and i get it now cant wait to play gl everyone
|
So I will let everyone know how this will work. You join this event obviously, and now you are waiting for the event date to start competitions. When you joined the event you had to input your Battle.net ID. We have a system called BGLINK you will need to download before your first competition. What "BGLINK" does is by connecting your Battle.net ID with your matches we go grab the results. This means when you are done with your best of 3 there is no need to come back and report your scores. This is a really neat system it "BGLINK" needs to be running in the background.
Ways to play .... 1. You can CREATE open matches for others user to join. Email notifications let you know when they have joined. 2. Join a open match another user has created. 3. Direct Challenge a user. The challenge button is right on the event leader-board. When the event is live you will see the button. 4. Accept a direct challenge. You will receive a email anytime you are challenged directly.
Note*- The match creator should host map 1, add and the invite the opposition. You will see your opponents Battle.net Name and ID on the match status page. If you have any questions you can look at our "How To" page.
Players will benefit from competing in the most matches possible. Winners receive 5 points and losers receive 1. Right now you will also gain 10 BG Tokens win or loss. We are running a promo. Once you have played one or two matches via Beyondgaming you will be in the swing of things. We have staff always around to help, feedback is welcome. I hope this is a great first event of many for you all. Best
We have another small event going on right now along with daily events you can join now. Link: Challenge Event !

My BGlink is not working and I cant find help at the site. What do I do now?
It says it couldnt establish connection with the server(or something like that )
|
I'm not sure how this is suppose to work. The links you put up in the OP aren't working for me. I registered on the Beyond Gaming website, but I can't find any tournaments that have to do with this complexity event.

The link in the OP doesn't work anymore, and there's also no way to get to it just normally through the website.
|
|
ah, this does work. thank you.
|
|
The links in the OP should be fine I am not sure why they were not working. Yesterday we had some problems but we buttoned them up. Also if you are having problems with BGLINK you can send a support ticket in and we will jump right on that. Or you can let me know your BG username and I will share with my team.

We will also be watching for win trading and players being selective on who they play. The following will result in a DQ from the event.
User may but cannot exceed the limits listed below. ~ Two Users may only play one another 2 times per day. Playing the same user more then 2x per day will result in DQ. ~ Two Users may only play one another 15 total times throughout the entire event. Anything over 15 matches will result in a DQ.
Our admin team will be around and helping the entire event, if you are having issues please contact our staff. WIN TRADING directly will result in Disqualification from this event and possible life ban @ Beyondgaming.com. We will try to make this event as fair as possible for anyone participating. Best
|
Yay no age limit
|
Sucks that this is for US only. it always is!
|
Looking through the people signed up it looks like there is already about 6 GM, many high masters, and a total of 80 players looking to try out for this! Really good competition. I've been msged a few times in game about the win trading stuff and as BeyondGaming has posted above this is stuff that we won't allow. It will be pretty blatant if people try. Moreover, if I find out about any win trading I'll be sure to pass it along to other tournament organizers, and I don't think they'll be too enthusiastic about letting whoever play in their tournament
Again, good luck to everyone! Monday is gonna be intense :D
|
Win trading on our site will not be taken lightly. DQ from event and possible per-ma-ban. We hope you all respect your fellow gamers and play fair. If at anytime there is an issue contact support. We are very excited to be hosting this event and will do everything we can to make it a great time for all participating.
Also look out we are currently planning a week long event. We will be doing this based around Kyo! Kyo has made himself known on our site as one of the most dominate SC2 players competing to date. He has earned himself a branded event that is in the works right now. I hope to see all of you support your fellow gamer and spread the word. This will be for low level players, who are trying to get better in the game. So if you know some "Newbs" Let them know there is a event for them coming soon! I know Beyondgaming will be giving out some prizing along with KYO is giving free coaching lessons to the winner. So spread the word to the low level players you know See you all tomorrow!

I'm pretty hype also to see who makes it through this recruitment bracket. The 6 GMs are all very good :o

that doesnt adress the issue of dodging.... Say someone wont play me, and they played the other guy resulting in more points for them.

BG's working on making it so that they won't be able to tell who's challenging them.
Unless, you tell them

how do you challenge someone without them being there? As nearly 100% of the matches are played and organized in chat and just played instantly with who is online at the time.
Id also prefer not to spend hours scheduling countless matches, would rather just find people and go... not waste tons of time this month sitting around scheduling all this junk. basically would rather be playing and not have to worry about remembering matches and stuff.
also with these new rules will the site remember these settings? Or do i have to take notes on who ive played every single day myself?

It isn't very hard to count to 2; therefore, even if the site does not do it I think you're making this out to be way more of an issue than it is.
Think of it this way: You can simply stop by and create a random match at any random time a few times a day. In the remaining time you can continue your regular laddering. So if, by chance, no one accepts your matches - well that's okay - because this runs for such a long duration. Don't be overly concerned with scheduling when instead this is something competitive you can strive for along side your regular time spent practicing. Again, if we push for anonymous games then there is no need to organize games through chat. Instead, you simply accept a match that is created at a time you prefer, or make one yourself.

Well Im imagining this ladder being really active and having to play over 100+ games to make it for this event. and counting 2 in a day is easy, now imagine 15 by the end of the month. thats the one im more concerned with forgetting.
|
This ’officially' went live earlier this morning and there are already people jumping out to an early lead! Currently Mayday is 3-0 in first place. We're almost at 100 entries now and I can only imagine how intense it's going to get later tonight.
Keep it up ! + Show Spoiler +I probably won't update much from this point on since the event has started and I don't want to spam post in here. If you want any additional information you'll have to check the tournament site yourself. We'll be sure to post the top 4 placements at the end though!
|
Sux for those of us that have to work LOL I will be fighting for it later!

Best of luck to those that have to work

Besides BGLink issues, this is really fun so far! Feels reminiscent to playing on ICCup. Good luck all!

Well maybe one day Protoss will trip into a tournament victory. That one DH not included
But our chat is usually filled with Kyo-related NSFW things.
|
Does protoss essentially soloing proleague count for anything?
http://i.imgur.com/j0gOkOw.png
How about winning korea as a whole?
Of course not, right? Only first places count. Nevermind 2nd places, or top 4s (which protoss has a surprising amount of) It's the race that takes you to that extra series win.
Ps. I don't think protoss is OP. I can see why you would assume that, but I really just enjoy seeing people who have no clue on how to play their race whine about their race sucking.
I do however, BM people who play without skill regardless if I win or lose. Doesn't matter if youre NA diamond league like kyo, or KR GM.
|
Nice on-topic discussion there Raine.
+ Show Spoiler +Rather comical high-horse you're up on.

Looks like I miss my oppurtunity It sounds retarded but I just didn't have time to get to diamond T.T I messed around to much in the beginning of the season and I just came back even though I was diamond before
To the rest of you GL! I was honestly just hoping though even if I didn't get into coL that I would get to play some GMs and High Masters T.T

I love you guys, but your website is complete dogshit.

Extremely confusing website, and very slow at updating.. Keeping me from playing.

Doesn't this format just encourage the high ranked people from "farming" low ranked people and discourages the top players from playing each other?
