It's an apt description.

Right. I live in Dallas/Ft. Worth so living costs are about as low as they come. When I lost my previous job I looked at jobs in Seatle/LA/Boston because gaming/family and I'd had to have made something like 30-40% more for the same quality of life. I decided to just root here after that.

The taste of Swiss reminds me too much of milk gone bad.

As a developer, you automatically make more than I'd expect to make for the same caliber job, but if I could keep my same standard of living with a job industry I'm actually interested in, I'd be so much happier. I imagine my standard of living would actually increase because my company's salary compensation is comparatively low to the industry.

I'm not a huge fan of baby Swiss-- the older kinda dry ones are really good though. You get more of that nuttiness instead of the milkiness.

I didn't realize Dallas was cheap, always had it in my mind that it was kinda pricey. If Texas politics weren't so crazy, I'd consider living there.

I miss corporate bucks. Even when I was working at GMAC doing data entry I was getting well compensated. Stupid housing bubble.

It's pricy for Texas. Austin, Houston, El Paso and San Antonio are cheaper.
Compared to Seattle/LA/New York/Boston/Chicago etc. there's no contest.

The amount of money I'm saving after having moved to St. Louis from Boston is astronomical. Couple that with being lucky enough to get a salary increase after my move (I'll credit that to job experience) and things have been pretty great on the finance front.
Yet I'm always wondering if I'd like to spend more time trying to do game design (even just PnP stuff) or just doing other writing or something. Maybe it'd be more fun to program personal stuff and do other things (like streaming) on the side too. It's just tough to turn down a well-compensated thing, even if it's not a magic bullet into my personal interests.

Finished Shadowrun Dragonfall.
Last couple missions goat fairly ugh on tablet because too many dudes on screen, tablet ram couldn't handle it and shit got slow.
But the story was good. Ending was good. Final missions were in general good.
I want their next campaign now QQ.

My wife is obsessed with brie. She gets those tubs of it where it sits in a bunch of cheese water and looks gross.
I don't think there is a single type of cheese I don't like though. Maybe blue because at least with the others the mold is out of sight out of mind.

^Roquefort and the other cheeses that smell and taste rancid/putrid

Prästost is probably the best cheese. Grain-piped (eh, direct translation from the swedish word for it), hard and strong, does well both sliced onto morning bread and in chunks.

So I was having some gas problems last week which I thought was due to the mass gainer. Took a look around the net and found some info suggesting maybe it's due to the milk. Switched to almond milk instead without issue it looks like. Tastes fine to me so that's not too big a loss. Just quite a bit lower calories.

Welcome to the club, my fellow lactard.
I'm fine with cheese in reasonable quantities, but milk very quickly kills my stomach.

Zz, if my internet is fixed, I'll probably stream some FF14 tonight since its weekly reset day.

Good lord.
Some idiot decided to take a gun to the college a friend of mine goes to. The dunce then took it out and started waving it around when he got into an argument with one of his friends and the entire campus was put on lockdown and SWAT was called in.
Like seriously, how stupid can you be?

Yeah wtf is with this modernism in cheese discussion
My favourite cheese though was this thing I only had once. Some Greek dude BBQ'd it and it turned into a bread-like substance (like pita chips but different) and I couldn't understand the name of the cheese so there goes my chances of ever finding it again.

What school? Drexel canceled classes cuz of threats, and a lot of kids at Temple not bothering to show up because of it.

Elite's 1.4 patch hit. I want to do so many things but I can't yet. For those of you who have it and can, go try out CQC. It's fun arena combat and it lets people get some instant action in small agile ships. The condor being the favorite of many due to it's insane speed and agility.
