I definitely draft way better when I'm not stream btw, and I don't think it's a fluke. almost went 3-0 today but the final match I had to mull a whole bunch, otherwise I think I could have taken it all.
Dr John Shadow has stream anxiety

Blizzard cracked the secret that WotC should have figured out years ago which is that you can let people play limited for next to nothing in a digital game because you can just make the cards disappear when the draft is over, and thereby remove the cost of packs from the price of admission. Even if you don't make the game outright free-to-play, that alone adds a lot of appeal to the game for players who wouldn't otherwise play. In fact, WotC still had a chance to make that happen because Hearthstone's limited format is awful compared to drafting in MtG. Like, Wave, I'm sure you'd draft way more often if the price of entry was just the entry ticket and not the packs used in the draft, right? Even if you didn't get to keep your deck afterward.
Am I right in remembering there wasn't much in the way of a F2P option for MTG:O before Hearthstone came around and disrupted the old business model?
Either way there's also a lot to be said for having a nicely polished and user-friendly interface.

Guys I need to know the game with the best gimmicks so I know which game "won" E3.
Basically none of the AAA titles show actual core gameplay.

Is this your first E3? It's been like that for nearly a decade. The only people who win E3 these days are those of us looking to make fun of this stuff.

The new DotP is the first FTP model as previously each year has been a standalone game involving most of that year's core set with the option to purchase extra content, but MTGO is a completely separate entity and functions exactly like the 'real life' game.

Wow I can build a village on a shitty port to PC or endless loading screens in previous gen graphics with shitty FPS fundamental design.
Edit: Bethesda still can't make decent running/walking animations.

That battlefront game play is pretty cool at least. Seems like a crazy amount of players
|
battlefront, looked awful. Utterly expected, just a bunch of scripted "gameplay" footage spacefighters dogfighting in atmosphere, on rails at-at, automatic tow cable(I think), and tons of references to the core star wars fans trying to desperately draw us in.
It looked like a battlefield mod. Most likely because it is.

I think it looked cool to but since its impossible to know how the actual game play will be its impossible to know (If I didn't make it obvious enough the way they showcase games is retarded.)

I want to point out that DICE hasn't made a good game since Bad Company 2. The only reason I have nearly 1k hours in BF3 is because of friends and the fact that I found a couple servers that only played 3 maps and had a lot of good players, so it wasn't just a complete snorefest spawncamping the other team.
BF4/Hardline are terrible, so we don't talk about them.

There's still some skill to PvE but it's something you should be easily able to do (almost) perfectly in a few tries. this makes me so sad that they changed that, i thought 5 was a pretty good amount, but now it resets way too easily. On June 16 2015 06:07 Eppa! wrote: Guys I need to know the game with the best gimmicks so I know which game "won" E3.
Basically none of the AAA titles show actual core gameplay. welcome to dead-games era of pc gaming. we console ports nao.
