It has its flaws, but then again every game has its flaws.

Gameplay would have to be super sharp for me to buy a game like that on release but if it's good I could be swayed. Diablo with guns has treated me well so far.

As long as you pay attention to reviews and reception when the game is actually released I don't think there's anything wrong with being hyped for a game. Is there even a decent game reviewing mag any more? Most gaming reviews and hype articles read like Apple press releases, and their dedicated reviewer/media hypetrain. I mean, when was the last time there was a massive hypetrain that wasn't a massive letdown? Maybe Half Life 2 (and their episodes?)

And even Bloodborne and Witcher 3 were hyped up quite a bit within the gaming community.

Witcher 3 hypetrain came to a screeching halt for PC community due to "muh graphics downgrade". GTA5 hypetrain slowed the fuck down due to 2 year wait for port, + ban people for modding single player. Sm4sh still not successor to Melee. etc etc etc.

My biggest issue was that I bought it on impulse for Xbox rather than waiting like 5 days and getting it on PC (I was home for a holiday during college). And then I just refused to buy it again.
