I'm trying to figure out a late birthday gift for my mother, who's been plagued by a back illness for years, and I'm wondering whether that kind of thing actually helps. I think it's going to be very hard to find a proper cushion without having her try them, what works for her will depend entirely on where and how her back issues sit. Personally I have a twist in my lower spinal cords/blocks/whatever-they-are-called and a medium-hard support cushion in that area work wonders when I have to sit for long periods of time. The most effective would probably be getting a physiotherapist specialized in back issues to help set up an exercise program natural support from your core >>>>>>> everything else. No idea how much it costs (Danish healthcare ftw).

Why must your announcements continue to raise my hopes when I know this product will be a complete and utter shitshow like everything else?

Apparently the bar where my friend Ian drinks is also the bar where Wolf drinks, so we have literally asked the bartender to ask Wolf for the address for us. All kinds of dumb.

Why must your announcements continue to raise my hopes when I know this product will be a complete and utter shitshow like everything else? If I'm reading this right they basically abandoning MTGO in a way and moving forward with a replacement but the replacement only does standard onwards? It's not 100% that but does feel pretty strange to me. This new product is meant to bring the magic experience to the digital world in line of hearthstone slickness and is going to try bridge the gap between paper and digital. They also mention F2P which is pretty strange with what they talking about. Do they just mean it's free to enter instead of having random fee then you buy cards? Do they mean you can play as much as you want once you have cards? They mentioned drafting but how does that work with F2P? More questions than answers man... Sounds pretty cool outside of saying fk you too every format outside of standard for this. I'm kind of confused why it's not all inclusive? They even talk about some fancy machine learning AI which if it was that surely the amount of cards wouldn't be an issue? I'm so freaking confused man.

so legacy/cubes/pauper almost certainly out, modern probably too also lots of potential to kill the game in how the 'f2p' is actually monetized. At first I thought they got a new guy specialized in paint jobs due to all the covering he wore.... I'm both confused and impressed at the same time. know a guy like that, he puts on rubber gloves whenever he goes outside. then he puts on fresh rubber gloves when he gets home so he can safely remove his shoes and stuff. he also buys new shoes quite often because desinfecting them daily tends to fuck them up real good. point being, guy has issues

I kinda always thought that those systems looked gimmicky (I remember them in Neverwinter Nights and Starcraft custom maps) but, I dunno, everything in D2 looks so cool. It gets tried a bunch, and can be fun briefly. but it was bigger when play by post was the only one way to play online. stuff like roll20 and its competitors have changed that. Though it is significantly better for large age gaps in roleplaying. It's easier to play with a 34 year old and their 13 year old kid when its through a video game, than at a table or virtual table. The biggest issue has been landscape editing being required ahead of time. but Procedural generation of areas can help a bit.

I played on a couple NWN persistent worlds for about 6 years. There was a host of DMs and ADMs on both.

I'll probably only draft it once or twice but I hope the format is as fun to play as mm17 and I can pick up some bonus loot while I draft that I'm never likely to use. What wizards really needs to reprint is chalice.
