I go to Hearthstone, Smashbros, Dota2, and League mostly.
Then when I'm at work all of the science reddits because it makes me smarts.
Also I'm sure we have one but, is there a list of "recommended" reading by TL or TLLOLOTGD? I need some stuff for when I start Nights in January.

I posted this in the Hearthstone arena thread but that thread moves slowly compared to TL LoL so I'm gonna ask the Hearthstone players in here.
pick 28/30, have a good distribution of cards, peaking at 3 mana. Playing Paladin. Do I pick Consecration, Argent Protector, or Truesilver Champion. Screenshot: + Show Spoiler +Not pictured is a Stormwind Champion, Mountain Giant, and Molten Giant
I'm edging towards Consecration seeing how I haven't been able to pick one up yet, but I could do with another 2 drop. At the same time, Truesilver is so good.

The image isn't loading, so I'm going to blindly say Truesilver.

The rule of thumb in "limited" formats like Arena is that removal is ALWAYS at a premium. There is almost no situation where you can have too much removal. However, all 3 of the cards you have available to you are pretty much the best you're gunna find.
Personally I take TSC over Conc here simply because it gives you a 4 damage "Charge" as soon as turn 3. Plus it usually sticks around because people rarely take Weapon Removal in arena.

Yikes. I'm specing my friend who is Silver V 0 LP and it is fuckin brutal. I see mistakes and get amused every minute. Its nonstop reddit front page fail type material O_O
I'm now curious what it would look like spectating myself from a 3rd person party. I wonder if I would look really bad in my own eyes...hm....
edit: I also find it funny how he believes in ELO hell.

Dunno why it's not working. I'm pretty sure Argent Protector is not the right pick here and another Truesilver would definitely be nice, but I already have a Truesilver, while I don't have any consecrations/aoe (or protectors).

Also I'm sure we have one but, is there a list of "recommended" reading by TL or TLLOLOTGD? I need some stuff for when I start Nights in January. Every time I will recommend The Dresden Files. Every time. It's 100% my favorite book series.
World War Z is a great read, as is the companion book, The Zombie Survival Guide. One of the most worthy reads if you like zombies.
Many of the Starcraft books are quite good, especially The Dark Templar Saga. Heaven's Devils is actually not bad if you can get past the cheesy writing style, I just really happen to like SC universe.
Plenty of Star Wars expanded media are good. The Han Solo trilogy of books (Paradise Snare, Hutt Gambit, and Rebel Dawn) are pretty great in particular. Edit: oh and the Thrawn books. Holy shit so good.
Aside from that, the usuals: Tolkeinverse (most people have read LotR and Hobbit, but at least do Silmarillion and give Lost Tales a spin), A Song of Ice and Fire, Harry Potter, Ender's Game series (Game, Shadow, and Speaker at least, rest eh), etc.
If you're ok reading manga in public, there's a lot of good choices there too. Psyren finally got English print, one of my favorite shounens of all time. Trigun has iffy translations but is phenominal. FMA will keep you busy for a long time. Anything by Ken Akamatsu is worth a read.

I'd take the conc. Already have 1 TSC is enough, plus you have equality. It's pretty easy after seeing the full list.

Also, I've been reading the Horus Heresy and Ciaphas Cain novels from the Warhammer 40k universe. Those have been pretty solid reads in my opinion. That being said, it really helps if you are familiar with the Warhammer 40k universe before you start reading those books. So if you know nothing about the 40k world then forget about what I just said. (I'm sure most of you do that anyways)

(I'm sure most of you do that anyways) I'm really interested to read the Horus Heresy stuff because that era is always sorta noted in other lore portions in codexes and the like but never really talked about that much. I always loved the Space Wolf novels, fucking SPACE MARINE VIKINGS YEAAAA
ALSO YOU GUYS I totally forgot that the Telltale Games Walking Dead Season 2 came out yesterday. Holy fuycki I can't even right now I'm going to play this shit tomorrow except fuck I have an interview and then dinner plans fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
|
What's the interview for?
|
Not really an interview, just meeting with a recruiter and going over resume and stuff. Still, it'll be very interview-like, lots of questions about my history and skills. She's already lined me up with a couple .NET positions, I just haven't met her in person yet and I like to do that when possible.

If people still care about books, some of the WoW books are pretty decent, specifically Christie Golding's Rise of the Horde. My all-time favorite book is still Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (and the sequels), good book that I just read recently is The White Tiger. Quick read, but I found it interesting. If you care about nonfiction, then I would completely recommend Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns, absolutely the best book I've ever read on Abe Lincoln (although it's been like 5 years since I read that book, so it might be horrible). If you want Sci-Fi, get a big compendium of Philip K. Dick novels, he's written basically every Hollywood Scifi in the last 20 years. For fantasy, I'd go with either Wheel of Time or Malazan Book of the Fallen, both are nice meaty fantasy series' that I enjoy a lot.
|
H2G2 is pretty great, agreed. I don't think I've read many of the WoW books, but I've heard good things overall about them, except for the rampant retcons and Mary Sues that some books have (though that happens a lot in the comics more than the books).
|
I've seesawed back and forth on the quality of WoW books. They're hit or miss, but if you pick up good ones they're worth the read.
