Hoping for a Wii U or 3DS remake.
Never beat MM but the Couple's Mask quest I remember as being particularly awesome.

I think it's one of those nostalgia-fueled games. Anyone who played it as a young lad no doubt spent hours exploring the same things in the Hyrule Marketplace the first time you got in there. Yes, it's a nostalgia-fueled game, but it is very well done. And if you consider the time at which it was released, it really was a great game. edit: and now I have that fucking marketplace song stuck in my head... OoT may be a game with lots of nostalgia goggles involved, but the fking Redead still scare me as a goddamn adult. Every. Single. Time. Fuck the redead.

I massively prefer 2D Zeldas to 3D... Zelda 1-3 + Link's Awakening do it for me, and they still do.
In the meantime I have yet to finish a 3D Zelda. I think I beat MM but I'm not sure.
I agree. I played OOT a bit when it came out because link's awakening and link to the past were amazing for gameboy and snes. OOT was just okay to me. I never completed it but I was also quite a bit older at the time.
I want to say it was moonbear who said they're developed for a younger gamer and hit that target audience well. Also was so stupid hard when I played it as a kid. The first one was a much better game design imo.

A link to the past is best link ~~~~

I got about a third through twilight princess 3 years ago, another third 2 years ago, and it remains unfinished. Yep.

Zelda 2 sucked, lol. Top down Zeldas were all way better.

It's not just that he's capable of rapping fast, but it's super accurate, and with some ridiculous words. Like, what rapper uses "exuberance" in a rap?! Speaking fast is generally not actually that hard. What makes it difficult is the fact your mouth is capable of talking faster than your brain can process what the next word you actually want to say. So that's what most impressive to me about his song.

In retrospect, maybe the worst thing that happened to my gaming wasn't getting into higher studies/a job, but the Internet. Killed my attention span, and I tend to play console games on emulator now. Because of irc and my "attendance" of sites like TL, I took the habit of alt-tabbing a lot and I don't have straight-up 5-hour gaming sessions anymore (nor even 3 hours).
That's pretty dumb and I should move out of it. Especially since one of the perks of immaturity is retaining one's ease at playing make-believe.

Man losing to a weenie deck in HS because card draw RNGesus doesn't love me is probably the second most frustrating thing in the history of video games.

Battletoads. I mean the first level was so fun, and then the fun police show up and punish you.
E: I have managed to repress most other instances of gaming frustration, but other people (defined as idiots) would be a high candidate also.

It is a good list. One thing I have to mention is that there are also a lot of good DS titles that are still great games despite not being 3DS so if it were a lit of top games that can be played on the 3DS I'd probably change that list up.

One of its bigger faults it has is that there's more dialogue and it's more important, but no one cared about accurate translations at the time. I am Error and all that.
I like the dungeon design and except for the final temple and its BS random walls that you can walk through, I found it much more intuitive than Metroid 1/2 and Castlevania 2.
Still, we all know that games back then like Castlevania 2 and Zelda 1 and 2 (and Goonies 2, etc.) were mostly made to sell strategy guides and fatten the wallet of Nintendo and the other gaming companies.

Did any of yuo play ninja gaiden for NES? That game was so hard to beat. I maybe got through 3-4 levels.

And Shadow Link, fuck that guy. My 4-5 year old self didn't think about crouching in a corner, I manned up and earned that shit, obviously setting the foundation for being awesome in life in general.
