I've built houses it's actually pretty easy if you keep it to one story
definitely something even homeless people can do. i mean even i can manage just need to hire one guy to explain to them how straight lines work and stuff, they can figure out the rest well and you have to get them help for foundation and roof but w/e
well, what about things like running water and electricity and stuff like that, you need to have some knowledge to incorporate that into your house, no?
the problem with having a homeless person build a house is the fact that there going to have payments like electricity and water so unless you can somehow get them a long term stable job there's going to be problems
I remember reading a couple years ago a theoretical thing about putting homeless in apartments and helping them find jobs.

It's difficult because east asians often travel in huge groups and don't interact with anybody outside their group. I've spent a couple afternoons with chill Japanese peeps before though. I don't think I've ever on a trip seen a Chinese person socializing with someone who wasn't also Chinese.
racist much?

heh, this was what I was thinking too when I was reading that.
also, hostels tend to target different socioeconomic class within each culture.

Yes and no, water is simple enough, just a pain because of copper pipe, unless pex is used, that shit is ez.
Electric is harder, need to have polarity correct, right breakers, avoiding touching live 120 or 240, etc.

Well no one seems able to distinguish Canadians from Americans so in the grand scheme of things, who gives a fuck? I mean beyond the urge to leap on anything you deem offensive. Taking things way too seriously over what's some dude sharing his experiences with clearly no ill will meant towards anyone over the nationality or race.

easy enough, bump into him/her on purpose, see if they apologize. if they say sorry, probably canadian.
the racist bit was clearly a fucking joke, especially considering a couple hundred pages back it was ketara calling people racist for having stereotypes.

sometimes Americans do that in order to pretend their from canada.
I don't have to worry about that stuff cause of my irish citizenship thats if I even want to use it

welfare is more than enough to pay for it if they dont do drugs though and at the end of the day they dont need much money because they only have to pay for food and utilities like an old age pensioner and obviously someone with a place to live is 10000x more likely to get a job
Its also 100% true that the fat person in the hostel is probably american. Its kind of sad.
In the past 3 days I've seen Americans use flash photography on historical artifacts that have paint on them, walk around inside the hotel with shoes on when everybody else's shoes are at the door, and vocally compare Indonesia to north Korea in front of locals. Makes me p. Sad.
