Off topic for off topic thread and therefore off topic?

I have a lan in 2 days, with a different team this time. I'll be.... interesting. Haven't played as much as I'd have hoped.

So what do we do here? You get to discuss anything not League of Legends related ranging from Pokemon to Costco pizza and not feel bad about cluttering up the Patch Disussion Threads. You managed to go off topic in an off topic thread
Ban pls

But it doesn't say you can't discuss anything League of Legends related. It just states you can discuss things not League of Legends related.

So, people don't warm up their tacos/melt the cheese on them? I've always cooked them, but then again my eating habits are much different than the normal person!

Good luck! If there is a stream, link it again. TL likes cheering on forum-regulars!
edit:
Also for this whole topic being made, I still heavily dislike this idea, and hope it's just a temporary solution. PLEASE think about it more

I've got a question for all of you here in the OTT. When do people generally 'begin' their careers? I'm currently 22, a little over half way complete towards my BS in tech management, with a part time job at Best Buy, and I don't see myself starting the whole 9-5, or any full time schedule anytime soon. Yet my friends went into a call center/office setting right out of high school and are doing well, making ~25-30k a year which I think is pretty decent for being so young. I feel like im lagging behind :/

I feel like im lagging behind :/ Start networking now and try to get a feel for jobs that you want to do coming out of school. See if you can get some other, more relevant positions to your end goal job and build relationships with people who will go to bat for you and hook you up. The job market for new graduates these days really sucks. There are a ton of baby boomers who are putting off retiring because they lost tons of money circa 2008 or never saved for retirement at all. You're competing again a ton of experience (and also a half-decade of other backlogged college grads) and you should be positioning.
The worst outcome is leaving school with debt and not having sufficient income lined up. Not a fun situation to be in.
To answer your question directly, most people are starting "careers" sometime in their 20s. But if you don't start early, chances are you could have a significant lag period where you actually want to start a stable career and can't find a position. Don't be that guy.

First things first, never compare what you are doing to what someone else is doing. It never works properly. It's impossible. Secondly, 25-30k is not that much money. You can't really call that a career yet. You don't want that type of money, which is why you are going to college.

This is pretty huge too. It's what a lot of the unis/colleges are about. You build up connections for the future.

I feel like im lagging behind :/ I'm French so obviously the whole state of the market and educational system, etc. is different, but I started at 23. Most people in my field start the year of their 24-25 (assuming one year "lost" which is somewhat common even if they didn't fail, just because of reorientation and stuff like that or abroad experiences). Really didn't feel like an adult at the time of graduation (still don't really), but as an engineer once I was in the job, it didn't feel that much different than a bunch of job placements or big school projects (granted we had an actual project in our group and not just some snippet for internal use at the cafeteria or something). The biggest change was actually going from the "I'm doing this for myself and I'm accountable to myself and my future" mindset to the "I'm accountable to other people, they're dependant on my work and I owe them that", not the working hours or anything. ... Oh. And the teenage son of my boss that came to the office one day and looked at me the same way he'd have looked at a 40 yo "grown-up". Fuck. That one really made me feel weird, he prob only had 5-6 years less than me.

I will be in school forever.
I really hate the US school system sometimes. Undergrad is such a waste of time if you're set on going the medical route.
