Why Andy's theme? There are so much better themes other than that, like Grit's, Olaf's, Sensei's/Colin's for the comedic kind, Sturm's, Sami's... not sure about the others, names differ between EU and US. Jess, Kat, Adder amongst others.
Also Bramble Blast is the name of the level while the music is Stickerbrush Symfony iirc. Along with gems like Krook's March and Mining Melancholy.
Edit: fuck that, upon relistening to Andy's theme I want to play AW again. T_T Also even if it's not the best, gotta admit the melody does its job very well. The first game's credits were so good too, combining the music and the images (with a different art style than the "game" itself, as with the end mission screens, more refined) and that feeling of "well, job's finished, day's over" it gives.
I know the old NES/SNES music aren't orchestral arrangements or what have you, but I just have a hard time thinking 'VGM' without throwing in some old Mega Man and whatnot. It just doesn't seem right.

The melody is like most of the work anyway. I don't care if something has meh sound quality or is a MIDI, is the melody (and possible context) is good enough and evokes things for me I'll like it. Which is a huge draw for Touhou themes since ZUN tends to overdue it with trumpets sometimes. :')
Fuck you guys, Krook's March stuck in my head, there's no way I'm asleep in half a hour.
Just watched the movie Joe. Pretty damn good... all it was missing was a little bit of style. I'm telling ya, Nicolas Cage's career is gonna pull a McConaughey pretty soon here. If you don't love Nic Cage you're a dummy. And the kid in it is an amazing actor too, guy's gonna be famous as fuck soon enough.

I give up on Nic Cage. I swear to god he's a great actor but he's also the worst one. He's like... TheBestfOu

Ya I know OCRemix exists, I just mean that everyone is busy linking their sweet orchestral/symphonic OST's like the old chip-tunes aren't good enough. I'll take a lot of those old 8bits in their original form any day.
FWIW Sequence has the best soundtrack of a game I've played in a long time. It almost feels like cheating though, I mean a music game should have great music right?

Is it better than
Because that's pretty much my favorite game music.

It might be because the old music give people very bad memories when games were hard and they had to listen to the same crap over and over and over and over and over again.
This song gives me nightmares. STOP BREAKDANCING ON THE PAVEMENT.
Eh, most links here were the originals. Only exceptions were pretty much the piano versions I put in response to To overrated land. (I swear if someone drools over One-Winged Angel again... )

There is not a single part of the FFVII soundtrack that's overrated. The soundtrack is the only part of that game that lives up to the hype.
@Ketara: That may be accurate. I'm much more of a fan of Cosmo Canyon and Crazy Motorcycle.
Oh I liked it. At first. When I was 16 and finished the game. Then it got stale as fuck and I was made sick of it by all the people fawning over the hyper-repetitive Latin chorus. 7 minutes for intro + main part + one loop of the main part is way too long and the main part could be shortened and you wouldn't lose for it.
I still prefer something like Cyan's or Shadow's themes from FF VI. Both tell a lot about the characters.
The problem with One Winged Angel is that it's the themesong for a character that is really hackneyed and has become symbolism for exactly what a character in a story shouldn't be like, so the song has taken on a lot of the same qualities.
