I have very mixed feelings about Portal 2. Portal 1 was like a small bowl of delicious candies. Portal 2 was a huge bowl with twice as much candy but it's also full of dirt. If you want the candy you have to fish through the dirt.
The only issue I had with Portal 2 was the length. The first game worked because it took a nifty idea (Portals) and ran through all the nifty ways you could use them. I liked Portal 2's story a lot, and solving puzzles was still just as fun, but there wasn't really any more substance to it.
Oh, also a lot of the puzzles were super simple, which was kind of a let down. + Show Spoiler +
But yeah, Portal 1 > Portal 2 for gameplay, but equal or better for story.
And my hype died. The game was quite easy and straightforward. Also haven't played any halflife...

It's still worth playing. Some of the puzzles are quite difficult, there's just a handful that are so simple you have to sigh (and a couple that are designed to be so simple that you laugh). Play for the story, imo, it only takes marginally longer than the first one.
Portal 2 is still worth playing, there are just long stretches of boring slog between the good parts. If nothing else the Co-op is amazing, find yourself a friend who wasn't played it and explore together.
The co-op is legitimately the greatest possible thing, between trying to bash your heads together to figure out a puzzle and trolling the dicks out of your partner by relocating your end of the portal at the last second. It kinda makes me want a Portal VS mode.
Pitch perfect was kind of ruined for me by actually being in a group like the ones in that movie. Obsessive Singing all the fucking time. So aggravating.
I'm not saying it wasn't fun. It just wasn't as fun as Portal 1 in the gameplay department. Story is better, environment is better, characters are better. But aside from the paints it's the same gameplay as the first one with some dumbing down.
Eating cheeses reading TL before I walk into a store to talk to the owner. Next thing I know the bag is empty and the hand that I hand shake people with (right) is covered in cheeses lol. The struggle...... It's real
