New inhouse logistics TBD. In the meantime, feel free to hang out in the league general discord https://discord.gg/0lCEKA3jUEFxERzd ("add lol" in #welcome) and get some ad-hoc games going! |

This is an open invite to everyone to speak their mind about the IHs.

Honestly I have very little patience for negative attitudes. The only games I can truly remember not having fun or learning much from are when people decided they were giving up, flaming, trolling, or leaving the game (all 4 of those have happened). I'm sure there were a couple of surrender at 20 games where I hated my life, but I got over that immediately and kept looking at how I could stay in the game.
I'm not one to be a snitch, but maybe we need to look at negative attitudes more closely.

The only times I really get upset over a game is when I'm playing badly and nobody is really giving constructive advice.
I hate advice like "CS better" or "land skillshots better" or "stop feeding" because that's not constructive. It doesn't give you any information you didn't already have, it just makes you feel bad. The only way to fix those things is just to spam games, advice needs to be more specific.
But most of the time in these games I get really good advice. For example, I played Malphite vs. Vladimir against Tolkien a couple weeks ago, and did pretty poorly, and after the game he gave me some really specific advice on how to do that lane, what levels to be aggressive on and which ones not to be etc. Then I did the same matchup again vs. Neo, played it the way Tolkien suggested, and did a LOT better.
For my part, I mostly play comfort champions in IH games, which is probably a bad thing, but the result is that most of the time when I fuck up I know exactly what it is that I did wrong and I don't really need advice on it, I just need more practice.
Also for the record, I really liked bot laning with Milo yesterday. We were constantly talking to each other and every time I screwed up he explained why and what to do differently in very simple and understandable terms. Was good.

I, too, get sucked into playing champs I'm comfortable with. I tried to branch out and play nid mid last night, but was matched against birdlicker's ori (which is apparently quite good) and camped by aura. This, combined with other factors, made me a completely negative asset to the team (in terms of usefulness).

Most of my experience in IH's have been very positive so don't take anything unsaid from my comment.
I do think that people should be more accepting when someone is playing a non comfort pick. I really wanted to polish up my mid but it's getting to a point where I'm afraid to misplay at all which is the exact opposite of how I think these IH's should be encouraging. It shouldn't get to a point where I'd rather practice in SQ on my new champions before I feel comfortable enough to bring them to IH's.

For what it's worth, I think the people in lower divisions (gold and below) should not be focused on learning new champs in these games. They should be learning about map control, objectives, team-fighting, etc. If they spend their game dying as a new champion they're not learning; just getting stomped. You can learn champs anywhere.
edit: that's not to say these players have to use their best champs, but inhouses imo aren't the place to play some champ you've just picked up and are still learning the ropes on.

All I've learned from these games so far is that I shouldn't play TF.
Good lesson to learn though.

Good lesson to learn though. If I gave you too much flak about locking cards yesterday, I apologize. But you did also go completely blind on that 200 hp J4, lolol.

Also birdkicker's ori is hella good.

This is one of the things I struggle with. People tend to balance around the assumption that all the plats+ will tryhard or play their best roles/champions. I've actually had people get very confused/worried when I'm not jungling Zac/Jarvan/Sejuani.
