New Korean streaming platform Chzzk is sponsoring a StarCraft Evolution Complete tournament organized by MurlocKing (Korean streamer). 7,000,000 won in total prize money will be on the line, and unlike previous events, it will be held as a multi-day tournament instead of a one-day showmatch.
The tournament features a stacked roster of players, including top current SC2 pros such as Dark, herO, and ByuN, as well as old school SC2 players such as MC, TheStC, and HyuN. Active BW streamers such as Mini and Snow are joining the fray as well.
The tournament will be held on July 13-14, 20-21, starting at 09:00 GMT (+00:00) each day. As the tournament is sponsored by Chzzk, it will be streamed exclusively on its platform.

Pretty sure StephenCurry played some WTL- and GSL-Qualifiers, so just one of those "never made the breakthrough"-koreans.
Also: Why are Trap, Classic and Stats listed as "Professional BroodWar players" on Liquipedia? Could the host not find three more BW-players or do these three in fact stream BroodWar a lot?

Cheers for the info
All of those 3 were BW pros, although had more success in SC2

Great!! Thanks man, I'm tuning in
edit: I guess not offline TT
the only part of SC2 which is interested me, and give new breath inside community, have no stream in Europe (for people with low connection)....
My bad… twitch seems to not save the vods sometimes, I’ll be sure to check the settings. I’ll start the stream up again in a moment and rerun what I did yesterday. Some really nice games!
So basically Player in upper slot of bracket must pick SC1 race and the player in lower slot must pick SC2 race in game 1, and vice versa in game 2. Game 3 is blind pick and both players can choose any race they desire.
8 players remain. Ro8, Semi finals and finals are June 20-21 I believe.
If you're interested in lag-free VOD, here is the link to the organizer's VOD channel on youtube with full videos. Keep in mind the VOD is not divided into each game.

I’ve been asking him for a month to include player Id’s for foreigners but no reply

Yes, each player must play each generation vs the opposite generation for the first two games. The ace match is players choice.

I don t know why commentators are stucked in SC2 while this mod seems promising and carry new stuff and fun
Because we're not allowed to cast the event because its sponsored by a Korean streaming site
This is inaccurate, anybody can cast the event so long as they are willing to do so on Chzzk.
While practically nobody can justify streaming on Chzzk just for this event if they don't already have a following there, this really isn't any different from Google sponsoring an event that is only covered on YouTube, or Amazon sponsoring an event that is only covered on Twitch. Nothing to see here.
EDIT: While I'm here, Winter and PiG have both uploaded replay coverage of this event

I can understand that you can t schedule this event on your planning, that s said it s a bit sad that we will be dependant from korean sponsor if we are interested by this mod (unless european event will be promoted who know)

That would be fun but unlike Korea most of the current notable pros aren’t particularly high level BW players.
And hey I love both games, and these bring some fun matches but I don’t really think the future is is mashing together a 14 year old with a 26 year old one

I like the synergy between SC1:Evolve being balanced in direction of SC2, and it s a HUGE new breath considering how repetitive the game can be in this period without any ambitious changes and with this solid idea in the mind of community that every changes are supposed to respect the Esport dictat of speed, i.e APM contest.
I dislike every people who consider that a game of SC2 has to be played in less than 12 min and i m pretty sure kids of 14 years old (like Clem or Reynor did) can be interested in a deeper game with less emphasis on speed.

Evidently, it can not. Not that "the game is too slow" is the biggest reason we don't have any big new blood, that is more of a money issue. But every game in any Esports has become faster over the years. Counterstrike cut its round-times with CS2 and even LoL got faster, with hour-long games being the exception, not the rule. The biggest AoE 2 Tournament of the year doesn't even get played on the classic mode, but in Empire War (with essentially cuts out the first ~15 minutes of any game), because RedBull wanted something shorter and more appealing to a broader audience.

Brood War has even more emphasis on mechanical speed than SC2 does, and seems about equivalent with this particular mod.
12 workers doesn t only mean that Blizzard want a faster game, that also said that Blizzard never resolved the annoying mid game unconsistency. Today this can be resolved because in looking at this mod i feel like SC2 doesn t need to be so different from his daddy, so vultures, "hydras T1 one supply" and dragoons are probably a good thing.
From this point of view, stalkers can become a real harrasement unit, awkward disruptor utilisation can be replaced like a stormgate catapult ("simple and basic idea") and colossus has to be more balanced between light units and heavy units (without pointing an existing problem or not of the light-heavy proportion units). Then the force field has to resist more to ravagers biles as community asked since so long.
Then basically, vultures addition is followed by firebat marines and macro hatch looks a part of strategy which has been lost in SC2 (then we can consider queen / injection / tumor like a necessary tweak : decision for the player regarding the size of the map and his personnal strategy)
The middle game consistency can be also resolved with a ground restriction which forbid structures while for example workers would travel across cliffs to the lower ground for harvesting ressources far from base ( ' a la Dune') - better usage of cliffs overall for units also can be considered
This mod helps a lot in resolving some annoying part in SC2
