ByuN had 20 supply in drops, and like 10 tied up in production. He had no units at home and even if he did, Maru's army was bigger

This is Maru's 5th Ro4 in 7 years at Katowice, he missed the Ro4 in 2022 after losing to Serral in the Ro8.
Made even more impressive considering that except for last year, which was a TvT final, 6/7 of those Katowice finals all ended up as either ZvP or ZvZ finals.

It's his 5th ro4 at Katowice, he didn't make it in 2019. Still super impressive. I'll say it again but he's the most consistent player in world championship events

Oh you're right somehow I skipped over that one when I was looking back at the previous runs. so he's 5/7 then.
EDIT: But also, that's 2019 so that shouldn't count. 2019 as a year shouldn't count.

Is he ? Until this year's bombing, one could've argued Reynor with his 4 finals and 2 won (out of the Blizzcon/Katowice switch) was up there.

I'll say it again but he's the most consistent player in world championship events Most consistent in IEM/WESG but his Blizzcon record has been sub-par at best. And he blew a couple of important 2-0 lead that I was literally scared when Byun even the score.

Reynor has also been remarkably consistent until this year. Makes his performance at this tournament all the more surprising.

That's 9 ro4+ in World championships, to Reynor's 4.

Yeah, but Reynor won Kato, Maru hasn't just yet. He has a bimodal tendency to either straight up win or clown out, whereas Maru is necessarily more consistent overall out of just being the better player. Just wanted to point out these things really depend on the k you pick for top-k, i.e. k=4.

Yeah this is gonna be a Serral vs Maru finals on biggest stage we have been waiting for for 6 years, I can feel it.
