I did not think Gumiho would be able to bring it back to 2-2. Thought he was going to get crushed 3-0 after those first two games honestly.
Did Gumi go mech at any point in this TvT?

Would be nice if Serral won a major tournament where he didn't have such a big advantage every step of the way, but he's Serral so he's entitled to those advantages right? It's not that Serral wins ONE tournament where he gets favorable group draws and easier qualifiers it's that seemingly every tournament is like that for him. Must be nice to have such consistent luck. That's blatantly and verifiably false. TossHeroes got banned for trolling Maru fans but the most asinine and disrespectful comments are permitted as long as they are directed against Serral. The amount of Korean elitist copium on TL has reached unprecedented heights in recent times. It's not that Serral wins ONE tournament where he gets favorable group draws and easier qualifiers it's that seemingly every tournament is like that for him. Must be nice to have such consistent luck. He literally just beat Solar, Maru, Reynor and HerO during his last tournament run. If he manages to win here, he'll have to go through (likely) Clem, Dark and Maru. More likely than not someone else ultimately claims victory anyways, so maybe save your whining already? Which he'll do all on the last day. Did you not read my post? Serral got a free pass to the last day of the tournament. That was what I said the advantage was. Oh cool he has to win 3 real matches to win a premiere tournament title, that's so impressive, it clearly justifies ignoring how big of a headstart he got thanks to faulty tournament planning. It was a Swiss format tournament so everyone was equal and Maru actually did better in the group stage than Serral. Well guess what he immediatley got swept by Serral in upper bracket semifinals. You wanna blame that on tournament format? I'm talking about this tournament, not the Swiss tournaments. It's this tournament's egregiously lopsided group stage that I'm complaining about. I don't know what the rest of you guys think the issue is. Ah, yes, by "seemingly every tournament" you mean "this tournament." The difference is I'm not trolling Serral fans, or blaming Serral personally for any of this. I'm complaining about shoddy tournament planning. It's you all that are taking it ultra defensively, like notice how the person I was responding to brought up serral first PREEMPTIVELY before anyone even said anything about him. Track the history of the thread back and you'll see my complaint has been with the lopsided groups and ESL's consistent pattern of having unfair groups at IEM Katowice. That's not a personal attack on anyone, that's a complaint about a pattern of tournament planning that has factual evidence to back it up. You guys are the ones that want to make this all about Serral, because and this is another verifiable fact, Serral gets the benefit of these lopsided groups way more than anyone else does. I'm happy to ignore the Serral aspect of this whole scenario if you guys are, but I'm still going to complain about ESL's tournament planning until they fix it. "Would be nice if Serral won a major tournament where he didn't have such a big advantage every step of the way, but he's Serral so he's entitled to those advantages right?" I mean, there's 4-5 posters that consistently try to disrespect him--which whatever, if that's your thing, good on you. In a perfect world, it just wouldn't happen during a LR thread when the games being played have nothing to do with him. But clearly, we don't live in that world.
You quote my post but look who I was responding to. I wasn't the one that brought up Serral in this thread on this topic dude. You want to get mad at someone for making the thread about serral, get mad at the guy I responded to.

I don't know what the rest of you guys think the issue is. And we are trying to tell you, when a player is actually that much stronger, the difference in group stage doens't matter. Just Imagine your worst death group consist of Serral/herO/Solar/Maru/Reynor and it will very likely turned out to be something like the result of Master of Coliseum 7. Serral is that much stronger at the moment but isn't always so much stronger that his group wouldn't matter. There were many times especially between 2020-2022 where Serral very well could have been eliminated in groups if he was in a group of death but I don't think he's ever been in one besides Blizzcon 2019 when Zerg was ridiculous. No matter how you look at it is crazy that he's been at the top level for so long and has only been in the hardest group of an event one time and is usually in the easiest. Its especially annoying when people rave about his consistency without acknowledging his group luck. Even in this event if he gets eliminated by Clem tomorrow a few years from now people will forget about his group and say see even in a bad year Serral still makes top 8! Look how consistent he is.
Dude. The guy won 26 tournaments in 6 years, it's not randomness.

Oh man, those Raven pickoffs by Byun!

This is so chaotic. Funny to see the speed zones make a big difference in a few of these fights.
Byun doing a byun and getting armor only lol

This is the scrapfest I was hoping for from these two.

I think Maru's probably happy with that result, 3-2 nailbiter and Byun wins. Gumiho was a menace to Maru earlier this year, breaking his all time TvT streak, I think it's safe to say he'd rather play Byun here in the Ro8.
