"sOs is back" - but I'd say Inno's return is more surprising.
|
AlphaX, resurrecting the old gods?!
|
Wait, what? I did not expect to see either of these players in SC2 again.
|
Inno played just yesterday I think in a mini tournament (also from AX) with Zoun, TY and Stats. He was also playing in Wardi Winter tournament today. He plays more SC2 now then back before his military

Has sOs completed his military service, or is still pending ? I tried to search, but it seems unfulfilled, or data is not updated.

Do you have a source on that? Liquipedia would like to know.

I would be pleasantly surprised if we got another year of competition with sOs and INnoVation. I watched the two games of INnoVation against herO in KSL today and while INnoVation lost, he was playing quite well.

HYPE!!
I remember how hype sOs vs Innovation was in GSL finals. A creative player with weak macro game, vs a player who just does normal straight up things but executes super well. I really wish sOs won that since he's my favorite SC2 player and so he'd finally have 1 GSL win to buff his portfolio up, but oh well.
Regarding players like sOs, Innovation, Stats returning - I had wondered, are they really going to compete in 2023, are they expecting to make any kind of minimum wage to justify playing?
But then I remembered. These players have won $500k-1million each. Even investing safely with humble 6% gains a year, they are pretty much set for life and can do anything they want for fun. 6% off $500k is $30k income a year.
A hope would be that these returning players would help keep the scene strong and interesting, and maybe with crowdfunding and fan support, the game can see a slight re-increase in money in 2024.

How much SC2 has sOs played since his release? haven't seen him in any tournaments.

I was cheering for sOs for the same reason in that GSL finals. Maybe he gets another chance in 2023.

Yeah! They were such polar opposites. It was as if that match was going to decide what's truly more important in Starcraft, strategy or macro?
Exciting to know that he may compete in GSL again and have new chances.

Listen I know it's hard to remember things that happened 5 and a half years ago, but you guys had a wrong image in your heads about how Inno was playing back then. He won that GSL because of his strategies and tactics, not his mechanics.

I didn't realize they also played in that, but I was thinking of the GSL finals where he did crazy stuff like take a bunch of secret bases while inno was confused and only on 3 bases.
I didn't say mechanics particularly, but to clarify what I meant by macro is Innovation played what most people would consider standard, and sOs did some wild mindgamey gameplans/reads.
