Stats and Zest won gsl in lotv, it would just be the first in 5 years

Good to know. Thanks | ||

Wouldn’t recommend dark Maru series. Basically an expected boring turtle fest series. Fast forwarding is your friend here

Obviously I want to see Maru get that G5L trophy, but wouldn't be too upset if hero won it either and finally gets his first ever GSL Code S championship.

He's pushing the boundaries of what's possible with Terran, in a similar way that Serral did with Zerg in 2018. There's so much talk about herO's innovation against Zerg, but Maru deserves as much credit for what he has done to the TvZ matchup as herO. No one else plays like he does. That style of play is an amazing technical achievement but its shit to watch.

Lol nothing innovative about that style Maru been doing this garbage since the mass raven turtle days. Now it’s just mass ghosts instead of it It’s great that he develop his own style to win games. But it’s literally cancer to watch. Once you see Maru starting to turtle on 3 bases. You can go take a dump, have a snack, come back and still nothing has happened in the game Actions only begins once the Zergs lose their patience and starting charging into the terran army

I didn't think it was boring compared to PvZ Skytoss (where it's just one deathball vs another deathball). Dark was causing chaos everywhere, runbys, nydus, droplords into his main base, and Maru just handled all that perfectly. Dark's use of the infestor was also amazing. It wasn't just two armies standing off at all time, there were engagements all the time. Serral's 2018 amazing run was also similar to this style - macro defensive style against his opponents. I didn't hear anyone complaining how boring it was...

Agreed, also Maru was forced to innovate like this because midgame terran really isn't that good anymore, like the top Zergs almost never die in the midgame unless they suffer critical damage in the early game.

Like buzz_bender said there was constantly action, runbys, Nydus, Dropperlords and even multiple full on engagements with Dark trying to find an opening

herO : -The first Sc2 player to win Code S after completing military service. -The first Protoss player to win in five years. -herO's first Code S title after winning a couple of weekender championships before, even sOs cannot muster the same way as herO did. Maru: -Maru's first Code S since his quadra consecutive wins three years ago. -The first player to break GSL5.

You see what happen in game 2 right? Maru did push hard in early game but Dark just defend EVERYTHING well with Queen-Ling-Bane while losing no economy or tech. Telling me how the F you supposed to win against such Zerg defense in mid-game please if you think your TvZ is better than Maru.
